Let's be real: Golovkin and Gonzalez are in against opponents who have no chance

I wouldn't pick any current middleweight to actually beat Golovkin. Of course it's a combination of GGG's greatness and the challengers available to him. But I think the guys I mentioned are more difficult and therefore more threatening opponents than Lemieux for Golovkin. He'll have to adjust a bit to figure them out and best them, while Lemieux's going to be right in front of him to box and sharpshoot. The other guys including Cotto are all more able to actually connect on GGG than Lemieux. Giving Lemieux more of a chance just because he hits harder is reducing boxing to power, and a hypothetical car wreck. We know enough about Golovkin through to know he can handle aggressive power punchers. The same reason Lemieux's being hyped as a threat is the reason he's actually not.

Oops, as an opponent at 112 I can't compare Viloria to Inoue. So at 112 sure we can consider him the 3rd greatest challenge for Gonzalez, maybe 4th behind Ioka. But factor in Viloria's age and performance against Estrada and wins against no-hopers and his current level becomes questionable. I don't see how he wins more than a couple rounds, while Estrada or Ruenroeng I think could really trouble Gonzalez. Unlike Golovkin-Lemieux I'm not against Gonzalez-Viloria, but even if it's Gonzalez's greatness that makes it a mistmatch it's still a mismatch. I know we can't get career defining matchups for a great fighter every fight, but promoting this fight as a a great co-feature rather than a showcase undercard fight suggests it is.

Despite how we try to qualify them these remain two mismatches that aren't deserving of a ppv.

Good point that not only can Lemieux not box much, he can't fight when he's pushed back. I see it as more likely than an explosive fight that Lemieux is forced backwards and can't even throw with authority,

I'd rather pay $50 for this than $75 for Mayweather vs Berto. This is better value than a lot of the recent PPV fights on both Showtime and HBO.

Thankfully I live in the UK so get the fight on BoxNation.

When did he prove himself 'not durable'? If you're going to mention any of the pre-Torres fights, you're not comparing apples to apples as his conditioning & pacing improved a lot.

He was still going strong in the 12th against N'Dam. N'Dam dropped Stevens, but hit David with several power shots and couldn't put him down.
