Assuming Pac looks good against a decent opponent in the spring, how can anyone think this fight won't happen in fall 2016? Sure, it won't do 4.5 million buys but it will still easily do 2+ million buys and Floyd will get 100-150 million. How can any sane person pass that up?
It could do above 2mil if Pac does something really attention-getting (like smash Khan's mandible...which he will have, if they fought)
As soon as Pac beats a solid opponent, the buzz will start to build once again. Nothing like the buzz prior to their first fight but big enough where the public will demand it once again. Even Floyd might be thinking right now that he won't come back but after doing nothing for 6-8 months and the public clamoring for it once again, he'll start thinking, "12 rounds of easy work and another 100-150 million in the bank?" Just makes too much sense.
...and he gets to hit that nice round number and boast of not just tying but passing Marciano's "record" (even though it has no real meaning for non-heavyweights)
The onus is on Pac to prove that he's still elite so whoever his opponent is and how he looks will be the biggest factor in how much buzz will be created. If he starches Khan, it will easily do 3 million buys imo. If he beats a lesser opponent but still looks good, I think it does no less than 2 million.
Floyd did 4.5 million with the Salt Water fight yet posters are convinced Showtime loss money on the 6 fight investment.....really?
it will be hard to adjust the mind in a level playing field with a two armed pac but if it happens in vegas with the blessings of the judges and well selected referee then he might consider another tons of money. pac is still slowing down and will be known in his next fight.
I'll lose my whole respect to Pac if he gives that busted cheater a rematch unless the first fight's result is changed to NC and the rematch is organized out of the United States under strict WADA rules.
No need for rematch,Pac is sore loser. If Pac would lose again,Pac and everybody else would have excuses. It's true.everytime Floyd fights he is in lose lose position.
