Cotto (and especially Freddie Roach) saw easy prey in Sergio Martinez, hence the push for the fight (@ not even the middleweight limit). Sergio's best days are behind him and cannot muster the same kind of power and mobility he had years ago with strong, healthy legs. Roach saw this in his last few fights and seized the opportunity.

But let's be real, Miguel Cotto is a midget in this division and will not be defending his title against the other true middleweights. Certainly not against GGG, and not even against the weaker middleweights like Quillin, Jacobs, Rosado etc.. who all have the power to KTFO him back to welterweight where he belongs.

And speaking of being real, if you think Cotto can beat Mayweather in a rematch, then you don't know **** about boxing. Floyd beats Cotto just as EASILY as he did before :D

I like Cotto but Martinez was on no legs, but in saying that I reckon Cotto could beat any middleweight besides Golovkin.

Roach did peep those weaknesses in Sergio but I think the main weakness that he peeped is that the man just can't box. A true middleweight with the style and boxing ability of Cotto would have beaten him at any stage in his career.

I think so too. Quillin doesn't impress me that much.

Martinez is a small MW as it is. He's naturally a JMW who's campaigning in a very weak division. Was a good matchup.

Can't see Martinez against the likes of prime Taylor, BHop for example, real size MW's. Kelly Pavlik style was made to order, he didnt beat him with size.

Whether he impresses you or not, he is still 5'11 and weighs 178 on fight night. He stops Cotto in a round or two. Any other outcome is just wishful thinking.

    Cotto could beat Quillin.

If Rosado, and that other random he fought put him through the ringer like that, than you can bet Cotto could snatch another belt in the Middleweight division, he could probably beat that Soliman guy too (I've never seen him fight though).
