let's be serious, atm Mr Golovkin steamrolls TBE and Lara @ 154 lbs

I'd bet on Mayweather winning at 154, Lara isn't a good enough boxer or fighter to handle GGG.

Of the current top 10 fighters from 154-168 right now I'd take Mayweather @154, Canelo @ 154or160, Andrade @ 154or160, & Ward @ 168 to beat GGG the rest I'd bet on Gennandy to win.

 

What heavyweight, Chris Bryd? You guys kill me with the hyping of these fighters.

 

GGG is 32, and was POORLY managed early in his career, having never fought below 160.

When he was the worlds best 160lb Amatuer, and just turning pro, it should have been at 147, similar to Chavez Jr. Not fighting for titles, but building a reputation like Keith Thurman is WISELY doing.

Thurman himself could be fighting at 160, having the frame and build to do so, but he dedicates himself at camp and comes in trim at 147. Same goes for Porter.

GGG is a SMALL MW. Period. He coulda been dominating the LMW division and MW division similar to the way Mayweather has weaseled his way thru 140-154.

IF GGG moves up to 168, he'll be FORCED to add 8lbs of pure muscle, which will ruin his chances at making the 154 lb $$$$$ fights vs Cotto, Canelo, Kirkland, May/Pac(152):think

 

Andrade has NOT proven his chin. Canelo has NO defense. Ward does not fight well behind the jab, but relies on infighting. Mayweather's shoulder roll would be useless vs GGG who punches from both orthodox and unothodox angles.

Only guy outta your list with a CHANCE, and it's a snowballs chance in hell, of BEATING GGG at 152-166 would be Andrade. And that's only because like Golovkin, he carries power in both hands, like Canelo, is huge for his weight class, and like Floyd, has incredible interior defense.

Winning against Trout means NOTHING in boxing. The poor peroformance against Canelo was almost as ridiculous as Haye's against Wladimir. It's blasphemy to mention his name next to GGG's.

 

I don't know. I think he'd be drained at 154 but I'd favor him in either of those match ups. Still they'd be closer to 50/50 fights because I'm pretty sure that GGG would be drained.

If he wasn't drained then he'd KO both fairly easily.

 

Though I believe GGG is overrated at this point the fact that out of all the fighters currently rated in the top 10 between 154-168 it's only 4 I'd pick to beat GGG should tell you I'm no hater.

Andrade and Ward I'd favor based on size and athleticism Ward I'd also favor due to experience on the top level that GGG doesn't have, & Andrade is as unproven as GGG to an extent just less hype behind him so that matchup is more 50/50 imo.

Canelo is severely underrated offensively and defensively from what I've seen he's better at both than GGG, I'd take Alvarez to win a close SD.

Mayweather is just all around a better boxer at 160 I'd take GGG no question at 154 I'd take Floyd his ability to adapt is second to none not to mention he lives off facing slow power punchers.

GGG would undoubtly have the pure power edge in each matchup but skills can negate power and there are subtle intricacies to each fighters game that would make me tend to lean towards them.

In sports no two opinions will be exactly the same how I view things and how you view them might not be the same only time will tell who is right hopfully we start to get some clarity in 2015.

Lara definitely has the tools to beat him .

Lara is a natural 154 pounder , Physically stronger , and of course has a better chin than Floyd .

Floyd would have a harder time withstanding Govokin offense for 36 mins .

 

until he faces other elite fighters of that caliber, then is nothing but fantasy fights... we can assume a lot, but he needs to step up to skilled competition first..

 

Lara ran once Canelo started landing on him Mayweather stood in front of him most of the fight that alone should tell you Lara is not a stronger more sturdy fighter than Floyd.

Lara's only hope is to try and flat out not engage vs GGG, he also definitely doesn't have the offense Floyd has to keep GGG more honest Mayweather actually mixes hard punches into his arsenal Lara just tries to jab you to death. Lara couldn't handle Canelo how's he going to handle GGG.

 

Against Lara!? I'd bet against him. However the only way we find out if Golovkin is suitable to fight at 154 is to see if he actually fights at that weight. If he wins in devastating fashion, then there is no question he crushes Lara
