Let's bring back the Larry Holmes senior's belt

All I know is Jeff Fenech - Azumah Nelson 3 was absolutely atrocious viewing, not great watching old dudes fight.

 

My stock answer is they should stay retired.

That said, I can't say I wouldn't be interested. Just as I'll watch some senior tennis once in awhile as a chance to see a past legend.

I would certainly rather see them in a properly controlled risk reduced setting fighting similar aged guys than being fed to prime up an comers.

Not sure how safe it can be however, whatever you do with gloves or head guards, as you get older your punch resistance reduces and your powers of recovery diminish. At some point someone is going to sustain an njiry they don't recover from.

So I vote no, but will confess that I would probably sneak a watch if it did come about.

 

Funny I just posted something about a senior belt ,but maybe it’s a good idea ,I’m for it 48 to 55 , less rounds and 2 minutes.
