Too limited. He never got the experience to fight a guy like them.

As much as Valero was somewhat of a youtube phenom/unknown quantity, from watching his last few fights i think he could've given these guys big problems, particularly Bradley. Bradley likes to war a bit and i can see him walking into some Valero bombs a la Holt. One thing is for sure, Valero was a brutal finisher once his opponent was in trouble, but if you watch his later fights he was never wild. I think he could've TKO'd Bradley in the early rounds.

Alexander would probably have UD'd him though.

solid champion that could've been more if he had the mental discipline. He would've been one of those "would've, could've" fighters.

If that happened, there would have been no doubt he would be a quality champion.

Not a hype but not an ATG-type of fighter.

I think that 27-0 record was rather impressive, though he only fought a couple of really decent fighters.

I talked to several trainers and they honestly felf that he would have been the one to beat Manny ..Just as aggressive with better head movement add that with his power ..Not sure if people who saw that video of a 23 yr old Valero sparring Morales but its my understanding is that the sparring took place before EM's first fight with Manny ..

I think that video would be part of Valero's legacy.

If only he had fought Soto at 135, it would have given us a better perspective on how he would have handled boxers with power.

No telling. He did surprise alot of folks who had greater doubts against DeMarco, and the recent documentary on youtube should cement the notion that Valero would have been a future superstar in boxing. He was likely better than most of us might have thought. That's my guess. But he would have had to prove it. He was pretty "good" only, the way it ends.

Where do you have him SR?

You think he would have reached the level of Morales or Barrera?

Or more on the Cotto level?

    He would beat him, handily.

Soto is overrated here. He is a decent talent, but his recent showings are more of an indication that he will not be a star, he has not shown any flashes of brilliance that would make people think he can be a solid title holder. :deal

Would have loved to go ATG because his fights were exiting( if a little short) 19 streight first round knock outs. I would have likes to see him prove his worth with the bigger names but couldnt see him doing much with a defencive fighter like PBF or Clotty. An all out braul with PacMan could have been exiting to watch. He seemed to be like a smaller Marciano using his face to block punches and throwing big.

Have to disagree on that one.

Soto would have been a tough test for Valero's skills and power. The guy has a good jab, who is also tall, and can fight in range.

I actually favor Soto over him.
