Kessler's stock soared imo, after putting up a good fight.

He will be a future champion. No doubt about it.

It was an excellent fight between a great boxer and a very good one in Kessler.
Kessler is a counter puncher who fights in a straight line as mentioned by Calzaghe. However there were some positive signs in the fight where Kessler was able to move around Calzaghe and land some good uppercuts and crosses. I think he showed that he was able to change his style to some degree. Calzaghe was just too good and boxed a brilliant fight.
I like Kessler and although he lost, hopefully he can gain a lot from this fight. Certainly I would pick him against most other opponents in supermiddle, just not Joe at the moment.

I think Kessler is only decent. It was hard to tell what type of level he was on before the Calzaghe fight as he fought limited opposition who could not take advantage of his flaws the way an elite fighter can. To me it shows that his lack of head movement and unimpressive footwork ultimatley means he will never be a top fighter, certainly not P4P.

Actually I was impressed by his footwork, speed and undoubted power. He was dangerous to the end. I can't see anyone else at SMW beating him.

So they ALL beat him? Did Joe ruin him that bad?

Blocky you are a very intelligent and wise man. Very scientific. Calzaghe was not in the best shape of his life. It was probably around 70 % of his ability we saw. I agree there with you. Just around that. Yeah I would say so too. 65 - 75 %.

And the difference between 33-34 and 35-36 it is very large. Yep. Again you are right. That, in fact, is a universal truth for all people.

That he didnt seem to be at his best, in your eyes, couldnt possible have anything to do with Kessler. It just couldnt. We can rule that out. That is for sure.

So IF Calzaghe had been at his best, he would probably have knocked out Kessler within the first two rounds. This is really what all of this means, I would say.

Thanks for that Blocky. Thanks for educating us. I feel so fortunate to have witnessed your extraordinary ability to think and analyze things.

Particularly, I like how your hate of Mikkel Kessler is totally undetectable in your writings. You have really perfected the art of seperating your emotions from your thinking methods.

Of all the objective writing that is found on this board, yours shine through as the most objective. No doubt.

I just wish I could meet you in person one day and shake your hand.
You just seem to be a really great person. Not just a great boxing analyst and commentator, but a genuinely likeable person through and through.
Whenever I have a bad day, and feel my spirits are a bit low I just go to eastsideboxing and look at Blockys post, especially regarding Mikkel Kessler. And I just go away with this feeling, that warm and positive , and especially HONEST and INTELLIGENT people do exist in this world. And I just feel so much better. Because Blockys posts are just filled with such an abundance of love and positive energy, and most importantly, an almost fanatical quest for truth and objectivity.
:pimp I know I have never seen you in person, and so you never know for sure, but I do feel that I ... that I . I guess what I am trying to say Blocky, is that .. I just love you man. I just love you. Ok now I have said it. I am blushing.:lloll Gotta go now. See you later.
