...but he feeds off of the other man's following. Marquez was never that popular with Mexicans but Mexicans are big fans of Boxing

If he did against Marquez who made 0 fighting John and 400k fighting Pac then he sure as hell will draw A LOT fighting Mosley.

    Don't be an idiot.

If Mexicans will show support then they will do so when he fights the man everyone calls "Mexicutioner", why the hell would the give a damn about Mayweather TWO WEIGHT DIVISIONS above when it's obvious his chances are low?. He made 400k fighting Pac, that ends it right there. Marquez was NEVER KNOWN to be a PPV attraction, this is his 3rd PPV EVER, his last two fights were on for free and they were against Diaz and Casamayor. If Pac fought Casa or Diaz you bet your ass it would be on PPV.

This event is popular and big because of Mayweather's highly anticipated return, END OF STORY.

Imagine if Mike Tyson had the same marketing team available with him back then (ex: GBP + partners) and the 24/7 shows involved, he would have probably raked in 3 million + buys in the Holyfield rematch..

100% true. It's amazing Tyson made similar numbers without the 24/7s and all. Add that and it would have been HUGE especially with the interviews Tyson gives.

Honestly a draw means Both PPV and Ticket sales, Again I ask who was the majority in the audience? Mexicans.
    For the Hatton fight? Brits
    For the Oscar fight? Mexicans
For even the Zab Judah fight? sounded more like a Judah crowd then a floyd crowd....

its both PPV and ticket sales again How many of you Floyd fans here actually paid to get a ticket to go see him fight?

Yeah after his Mega fights with De la Hoya and Hatton both of which sold more then 2 Million PPV's across the board it seams Mayweather has crossed over to being the main draw in boxing which is what his always wanted so just watch his ego grow from hear on out !

I would be really curious to see how large of a tv audience the most popular fighters would get, if they were only fighting on regular cable such as : ABC, CBS or NBC, just like in the past..

The numbers would be huge !

When fighter's are fighting Floyd, they do more in PPV sales than they ever did before.
That's just a fact. People can argue over who sold the fight more, but the fact is Floyd
knows how to sell a fight. Floyd was all over t.v. selling this fight.

Whoever fights Floyd will get their best payday ever. That's just fact.

Are there more fans of the other fighter watching? Yeah, of course. The thing is, more of those fans are watching than would normally be, because of Floyd, not the other guy.

Floyd has taken the mantle from Oscar. If you want the most money you fight Floyd. People may buy for different reasons than they did Oscar, but that is irrelevant, because they're still buying more because of Floyd.

If Floyd wasn't the draw, how come he got paid triple what Marquez received?

It's both ways because of we're talking about Floyd. Most people will first use point A, then resort to B when they are wrong, and then even C, D, etc.!

Even Freddie Roach is doing this now!
