Let's face it, Ali has nothing that will trouble Lewis.

Yes Holy in the second fight was able to jab and move and beat Lewis to the punch to take atleast 4 round off him despite being past his best.

Ali is quicker in both hand and foot then Holy and could definitely follow that gameplan.

It won't be easy because of how multi faceted Lewis is, but Ali is a favourite for me.

The only SHW who's shown he can consistently totally negate smaller opposition is Wlad when he's allowed to clinch. Lewis clinched a lot in the first fight and negated Holy but in the second fight Holy was able to stay at range and punch with him and prevent clinches being an issue

One man has taken all the punches in the world, always gotten up from a knock out, always found a way to win and never been kood.

The other guy? Can't even take a big shot to the face. Go figure.

This would be a great fight. They both carry a lot of advantages into the ring. The problem Ali might have besides Lewis' physical traits is I'm not sure Lewis would have let Ali get into his mind as much as Ali's opponents usually did. Lewis always seemed kind of detached.

Ali had the speed, size, reach, chin, strength, stamina and heart to be one of the few men who would defeat the best version of Lennox Lewis .. Ali would decision him nine - six or so to me .. maybe 10 - 5 .

I've predicted that future generations may very well be tempted to regard Lewis as unassailable GOAT.

I'm gone four months and...it's started...

I rate Lewis highly but his two ko losses with basically one punch has to take him down a notch below Ali and Lewis. Perhaps others.

Gotta land the jab in order for it to be effective, Lewis did well with his jab against Vitali. But that doesn't equate it having that effect against Ali. Got to be able to find Ali with it 1st.

I have Ali and lewis at one and two but not always in that order.
Lewis lost twice by ko but fighters like Norton and Frazier who both beat Ali wouldn't trouble the Canadian, British, Jamaican

I'm not a fan of h2h match-ups with fighters from different eras, and my guess is that Ali would find it harder in Lewis's era than he did in his own.

With that said, it's hard to believe that the Ali that toyed with Terrell wouldn't do better than a past it Holy did in his two fights with Lewis. That version of Holy probably was stronger and had better power than Ali, but prime Ali has him well beat in terms of hand and foot speed, reflexes, stamina and timing. And quite probably also was a superior ring general.

If a creaky Holy's jab and movement off-set Lewis in the rematch what would the Ali that faced Terrell do?

I'm sure your looking for some type of venomous retort, me,I don't believe in that, and after all it is your opinion. But, when I look at a fighter, who got out jabbed by an old slow R.Mercer, was tooth and nail with an old, slow ring worn Holyfield, though he did enough to just barely win the fight in my opinion.Got knocked out by 2 different very average fighters in Rahman and McCall. There's not one fighter he's beaten that didn't have some very serious question marks BEFORE he fought them. And that's his entire carrer not just his championship yrs. Too me not only does Ali beat him (handily I may add, more than likely stopping him). But I also could see some of Ali's opponents notably G.Foreman, S.Liston maybe Frazier, (he's never seen the type of head movement Frazier was capable of esp in his prime, fight of the century, consistently slipped Ali's jab) And if the two average fighters above put him on his butt, Im sure Lyle and Shavers who were just as average could do the same. I'm sorry Ive watched a lot of Lewis's fights over the yrs, and personally I see a big guy who is average at best. And his only real saving grace is great size. Same as the Kliechkoes. But these are my opinions....

Ali is just TOO QUICK. ADD TO THIS HE WAS TOUGH AS HELL, could fight 15 rounds at top speed and threw every punch in the book. In any sport speed kills and there is no defense for it. All of this is why Ali is favored over all other past champions.
