Anyone who puts his week's pay on any lightweight being a lock to beat a prime Duran, is a fool.

Brown was a very underated champion, imo ,when he was not champion his results were often ordinary.

Hearns held his left hand low as well, as did Leonard, as did Napoles, as did Robinson, as did Burley, as did Moore, as did Louis, as did Charles, as did Canzoneri, as did Jones Jr, as did most great orthodox fighters you care to mention. Honestly, how many truly great fighters were purely orthodox. Even Floyd holds his left hand low often. It's called baiting.

Duran lost to the best fighters he fought only after 12+ years, 70+ fights, and going 12+ lbs over his prime weight. Wow, he clearly deserves to be derided for that.:patsch

Duran beat a respectable crop of lightweights, but they do not compare to Leonard's.
The lightweight division is the strongest of them all imo,and Leonard bossed the deepest of it for 7 years.

In response to the thread title - possibly more than probably.

Duran at his best was a complete fighting machine, no doubt at all, there are others with just as solid a claim tho, Robinson, Louis, Leonard, Whitaker, Sanchez to name a few... none of those guys were perfect, they all had little things, certain weak points (or not-so-strong points I suppose would be better to say) that the others could do better than they could but all were complete fighters.

Duran has as much right to be called the most complete ever as anyone, I suppose. You can pick apart absolutely anybody, after all.

Duran may very well be the most complete fighter.

All i'm saying is that needing a poo is not a valid excuse to wipe a loss from existence. There's plenty of time to have a poo before a fight. Even if he just starts turtle heading during the ring walk, i'm sure there'd be no problem with him running back to the toilets and having a poo, delaying the fight for 10 minutes maximum.

Every human being in history needed to poo every other day of their lives. No human being in history that has quit anything has ever been able to use needing a poo as a legit, accepted reason to quit. Thats all the **** i'm saying.

He was great, of course, and one of the 4 or 5 more skilled fighters ever for me.....It´s close, but Robinson was more skilled, in my opinion:

Speed, power and chin are more athletic atributes, but there is something to do with skills as well....especially power....

    Jab- Robinson
    Hook- Robinson
    Cross- Duran
    Uppercut- Duran
    Defensive skills- Duran
Offensive skills- close, but Robinson was better in my opinion
    Footwork- Robinson, with ease
    Counter-Punches- Robinson...very close
    Power- Robinson
    Speed- Robinson
    Ring Generalship- Robinson
    Combinations- Robinson
    Feints- even
    Accuracy- Robinson
    Timing- Robinson
Body Punches- I would say Duran, but this is very close...
    Upper Body movement- Duran
    Chin- Robinson
    In-Fighting- Duran
    Range Fighting- Robinson

And Robinson was more proven, beat better fighters....

    just my opinion...

To read some of his nuthuggers here, they actually play it up as a reason to ADD to his legend, as if it's something to be proud of. In this way, Duran is hideously, disgustingly overrated. As if the only way anything could go wrong in a fight he was involved in was due to a conscious decision of his. Insanity.

just d asswipe takes almost 10 minutes , what about d time needed 2 actually crap ? and d time needed 2 go in2 and back from d bowl ? and maybe even washing 1's hands if something went unexpected ? and drying them ?
