Lets face it, Duva blinked. Now the fight won't happen.

She wanted Sergey to be Adonis's mandatory for his WBC title. When WBC called for purse bids, she felt the pressure from HBO. KNowing that HBO wouldn't put the money up to win purse bid and weren't going to allow Kovalev to fight in Showtime/PBC, they were forced to pull out. This fight will never happen, and both have no one else to fight of note in the division.

LHW is a deep division with plenty of decent opponents for both.

I have no comment about the purse/bid/HBO/Haymon etc. I don't get or the least bit interested in how that works or what means what.

What division are you looking at? The only logical fight was Kovalev/Stevenson. Beterbiev won't fight Stevenson until next year the latest, and will probably never fight Kovalev with him have signed with Al Haymon.

Apart from Beterbiev there's Chilemba, Eleider Alvarez, Fonfara-Chavez Jr winner, Braehmer, Mekhontsev(huge pospect - can be scheduled for 2016). These are all top fights for both Kovalev and Adonis. There's no shortage of decent opposition in LHW.

Yawn, all those fighters besides Beterbiev and Chavez Jr are below Stevenson and Kovavlev. Chavez Jr is signed with Haymon and probably won't be matched up with another one of Haymon's marquee fighters. If and when he beats Fonfara, he'll probably fight Froch Next. Fonfara would have lost to Stevenson and Chavez Jr, would Sergey really fight him after that?

Well as I said these are all good fights for both Kovalev and Adonis. Chilemba and Alvarez are very good, as of now they are more accomplished pro fighters than Biev, I don't know what makes you think otherwise. You don't know if Chavez Jr will beat Fonfara yet, and even if he does, he won't be Froch's last opponent for sure. Braehmer is also a great fighter, undefeated since 2008. Finally Mekhontsev is an Olympic gold medalist, a medal neither Kovalev nor Beterbiev possess.

No I would disagree, those fighters won't excite the average boxing fan. Beterbiev, Stevenson and Kovalev beat all of them. None of those fighters besides Chavez Jr are great. Brahmer isn't in the same class as The three I mentioned. Fonfara can win, but IMO unlikely. Froch wants a cash out fight in Vegas, and if he doesn't get it, he'll most likely retire. He's not fighting anyone other than Chavez Jr at LHW.
