Pssh you trying to tell me little ass 140lb Junito suddenly rediscovered his KO artist mojo way up at junior middleweight a dozen years into his career and kayoed a sturdy guy like D-Rod, without being on any gear? Yeah riiiiiiiiiiight!

    In this convo???

I love the Ghost, but IMO he can take a ticket and get behind Salido & Miura.

RJJ gos straight in whatever year he's eligible only Floyd would be ahead of him of the other names mentioned. Big fan of Toney but I think Cotto is ahead of him imo

Is that even a sure thing? I mean, it ought to be in my opinion, but...damn, that would be close. If there was ever a situation where it was down to a choice between Jones & Mayweather. (let's ignore for the sake of argument how unlikely that would ever be, as it would require TWO superior candidates to put them in a 2-man race to escape the bubble and grab the 3rd spot...or, for the IBHOF rules to be overhauled as someone I think half-jokingly suggested earlier to permit just one modern inductee annually)

If Conor McGregor doesn't box professionally again, it's going to be even more of a headache to call.

Anyway, obviously FMJ gets in. Obviously Wlad gets in, because, y'know, Wlad. Gave my other vote to Ward. Undefeated, perhaps a better resume and just overall a better boxer than Cotto. I have no idea who Kazuto Ioka is, but I feel like if I did then I'd swap him for Ward, who I really don't like on a personal level.

Kudos, this was an intelligently wrought piece of humor.

(for those who didn't get it, the intention was, I believe, to make you think for a split-second that he was suggesting that how much weight you give the McGregor win has any bearing on FMJ's consideration, which is ludicrous...only to come to realize that he's, on the surface, making the even more ludicrous - enough so to give away that he's 100% not serious, where the previous interpretation would have left that in doubt, as he could've just been a very stupid person - suggestion that McGregor with his 0-1 record might be a candidate)

So who goes in first, if you only have one spot annually?
    Roy Pac or Floyd?

With boxing's long, sad history of fighters fighting too long and making ill advised comebacks this may be an easier task in 2023 than it looks now.

It's really hard to show no bias on this because Roy is probably my favourite fighter and I always thought at his peak he was another level to everyone else.

For a lot of reasons inside and outside the ring never been a fan of Floyd but recognise him as maybe the best defensive fighter ever. Especially the last part of his career I think he has been to picky and careful of who/when he fights . As good as he is I haven't really enjoyed many of his fights apart from when he was more aggressive early in his career.

Not including the last part of his career obviously but I much prefer to watch Jones fight and it was just unfortunate at his best he didn't have the opponent to give him the big fight and put him over more with the mainstream.

    Mayweather, Klitschko, Ward.

Ward > Cotto but Cotto may get it from popularity alone.

Agree with your sentiments there and people need to keep in mind it is the Hall of "Fame."
