Boxing doesn't need a clown as its HW champ.

 

I find Fury an entertaining character but I'm not rooting for him or against him. May the better man on the night win.

 

Undefeated and it's taken 7 years to fight for the title. As long as this remain the case, the sport is a joke. He hasn't really mixed in decent class but the heavyweight rankings are so weak.

 

Also there's really no need to be sh*tting on other fighters to justify supporting Fury. Just like Fury, guys like Froch and Haye have their good points and bad points.

Haye isn't all that loved, in fact I see almost nothing but hate for the guy. He gets more media coverage thanks to being more media savvy, his appearance, his boxing accomplishments and his KO's.

Similar story with Froch. He gets a lot of hate as well as love and he gets more media attention because he is more accomplished, has had more high profile fighs and victories and doesn't say ridiculously un-PC things in public like Fury has.

It isn't a race thing. It is because the media are London-centric. They always hype up Londoners. The Groves over hyping after the first Froch fight was ridiculous. As is anything David Haye related.

I've always quite liked Tyson Fury but on occasion have thought he has gone over the top. Having watched some behind the ropes and a few interviews this week I have come to the conclusion that he is a pretty decent, honest kid who says the odd daft thing because he is just being himself rather than a boring, media trained, sit on the fence, PC robot. It has been quite refreshing to hear him say he might win, he might not and what will be will be, rather than the usual boring unrealistic bluster.
