Right, let's get this cleared up and see if we can leave Dirrell,Boone colour and nationality out of it.

Ward beat Froch brilliantly. His utter dominance of that fight had me eating crow and I became a fan.
I've been a fan of Froch for much longer, all the while being honest about his shortcomings.I support him because he has injected much needed excitement into boxing in my country after the gap Hatton and to a lesser extent,Calzaghe left(and I wasn't a huge fan of either)

Ward is probably the second most proficient boxer in the world, and in all likelihood defeats Froch again as I don't see anything that he won't be able to neutralise.

But I support Froch, and when you support a fighter/team/athlete you should stick by them through thick and thin.

Froch has bounced back very well from the Ward defeat, and there is no other fight in the division that matters.Ward has the unusual problem of being just too good for his preferred weight class.

Now I'm not saying he is duty bound to give Froch a rematch, far less in the UK,but I don't think it's an insult to suggest that he comes over and tries to gain Froch's belts for a good payday.
Most Froch fans know it's too big an ask,but they know Carl will give it everything, regardless of whether it's not enough.
Of my ten favourite active fighters, only two are British, and as someone who has held his hands up about being wrong about Ward,I think it's pretty sad that many people have made this about race and nationality.
If Froch doesn't get the rematch,I won't be too bothered as he has nothing left to prove to me.Ward is exceptional, and losing on points to him is no disgrace.
If he does,I'll support him and still have a ton of respect for Ward.

Has Froch to go around saying"I know Ward had my number, and I'm happy being second best"?
Of course not.Boxing is a business and that attitude just won't fly with anyone.

So I'm asking a genuine question. Why did Froch winning and the suggestion that Ward gives him another shot provoke so much race baiting and nationalism verging on xenophobia, with the majority coming from people who hate Froch as Larry's thread in the immediate aftermath exemplified?

Let's keep it to the subject at hand please, and I would appreciate sensible, measured debate without xenophobic generalisations if that's not too much too ask.
    Although it probably will be.

Ward should fight Froch in England only for my own personal, selfish reasons in believing it would make for an outstanding event and atmosphere while shutting down much of what is negatively said about him on here. At the same time, they need to make him an offer first, P.

Of course, and that offer has not been forthcoming.
But it's early yet,and my question(s) are more in regard to the offence that even the mere suggestion of him coming over seems to have caused.

I think if Ward thinks about it for a bit he'll realise that it makes perfect sense to fight in England. In my opinion he has a pretty larger fanbase here than in the U.S (I'm not trollin'), that along with fighting someone who has a rapidly expanding fanbase in Froch would make far more money than in America where tbf he just isn't a draw.

Colour? I've not seen anyone bring colour into this. Nationality, yes. But colour/race hasn't hasn't even been brought up. Don't see the need to mention that.

Anyway, I think the backlash from the Ward fans (and from Ward himself) is due to the general feeling -- mostly from our Brit lot -- that Ward should be compelled to come to the UK and fight Froch. Which, of course, is nonsense and why Ward has been saying all along, "I don't have to come to the UK, I don't have to do anything". It also becomes even more ridiculous when you consider the fact that Froch and his promoter actually don't want any part of him. Again, like Ward's been saying, all Eddie has to do is pick up the phone. Will he do that? Let's wait and see.

Ward will get mugged in England and most Froch fans will take a gift win for their hero happily. We'll be hearing for months how Andre had no balls, or wasn't aggressive enough or whatever will make it easier for them to believe that Froch deserves another gift decision over someone he would NEVER beat otherwise.

I would like to see a rematch but on neutral ground but I doubt we will because simply put, Froch, McCracken and Hearn's words on Saturday night are telling me they don't even want it.

I think you'll find colour was brought into it Rico, and if you really want I'll go and have a look for the post.
But I'd like to think you'd take my word for it

Sorry, mate. I didn't mean it like that. If it happened -- which, if it's coming from you, then it most likely did -- then I probably missed it. That's all. :good

Hearn wants no part of a rematch.
Froch looked very slow at times and as much as i like him i definitely see Ward getting a stoppage win.

It started when the British/European fans calling Ward a coward for not leaving his hometown

Despite annihilating the 2 guys these fans want to see them fight already, the simple fact that they didn't get annihilated at home seems to bother them

They think it'll make a difference

And as a result, they started with the insults, Americans got defensive, nationalities got involved

I suspect Hearn will do his utmost to talk Froch out of it, but I honestly believe hubris will have Carl demanding an offer is made.
I know it's went both ways, but I said in the RBR just after the scores were given that it wouldn't take long for someone to slag Froch and as expected, one of the main race-baiters had a thread up within about two minutes.

I want to see it in England. I disagree with you Pity in regards just to how much Ward dominated Froch. Lewis-Holyfield I was a domination. Ward-Froch was a masterful 'clear cut' win. Ward looked like he was gassing starting from Round 10... and Froch looked like he was gaining momentum. The rounds Ward won looked good, but his utter lack of power made it seem like he was beating Froch but not hurting him. I also think Froch has improved loads... I want to see this fight. It will amuse me to see either Froch being brutally schooled or to see Ward being brutally knocked the **** out. I win either way.

The thing that shocked me most was how he was able to "out Froch" Froch if you know what I mean? With the injury as well.
It was the way he was able to out muscle him, which in turn led to him clearly out boxing him.
No doubt a home crowd gives Carl a boost, but I just can't see how he neutralises the ultimate neutraliser.

Fighting in England causes timezone problems. I don't think HBO would like it.
