If he did what Mikey did last night. ie go up 2 classes and faced the true bogeyman of MW division in GGG.
It would be sleepy time for Errol.
Might even get some proper sleep and not look so spaced out.

It's not a good idea for any fighter, regardless of how elite they are, to jump up 2 weight divisions and take on one of the very best at the higher weight class.

All the great multi division champions worked their way up properly through the weight divisions; in Mikey's case he won a title at 140 lbs and than went down to 135 and than jumped to 147 to take on arguably the best WW in the world without getting his feet wet first in the division. I think at this juncture he's best off campaigning at JWW. Him and Prograis would be an excellent fight.

He beat a punching bag and 30% of his body punches fell below the belt.

The best WW but no match for a fighter like GGG

Youre a good poster timeout so Im not throwing a dagger here, Im just genuinely curious... What is it with people talking about Spence vs Golovkin? I keep seeing it. What does Golovkin have anything to do with Spence or this fight? Just seems like a weird thing to bring up.

I mean, while we are at it, Golovkin would get battered by Bivol and Beterbiev. We can go through the divisions talking about the fighters that would lose to the guys two divisions above them.

Spence's punches would have about as much effect as Willie Monroe's on GGG, and the fight wouldn't look all that dissimilar.

As a point of reference, Rosado didn't violently pulverize many of his opponents.... but he did with this one.:deal:

I just think it would be a great fight!:boxing1

I think Errol would do well at middleweight against anyone!

These are the fights I would love to see tell me you wouldn't.

    Errol vs GGG at 160
    Errol vs Crawford
    PAC vs Mikey

GGG vs Bivol or Beterbiev now yes he would probably lose.
But GGG vs KOV? I am not so sure.....They sparred enough times....I would make GGG live underdog in that fight.

He most likely get stopped but not necessary sleepy time. It happened with Brook so its not a huge leap of imagination that a Spence GGG fight would play out in a similar way...

I had brook well up on my card vs Spence before his eye socket that GGG destroyed got busted.
I do feel Spence has gotten better and he is now in his prime.

    Right on.

Ya Im sure it would be a fun fight while it lasted. Would be interesting to see how Spence would deal with Golovkins size power and pressure.

Before tonight I would have thought it would have been interesting to see if he could last the distance against an aging Golovkin, but seeing his reaction to Mikeys power (via respect, flinching, ect) makes me think it would still be too much for him.

What about Canelo vs Spence? I think thats an interesting one as well.

i think spence stands a better chance against both ggg and canelo than mikey stood against him tonight, knowing what i know now. spences dimensions are not as far removed from ggg and canelo, as they are with mikey.
i always knew spence could box, but i wasnt sure he had the discipline, and his team had the knowledge, to device and carry out a gameplan so flawlessly.
the fight to test himself, if bud isnt avaiable, is hurd, he can win that. oscar wont let mungia anywhere near spence right now.

Yes I agree that I think he has a better shot against Canelo than Mikey had against him. I gave Mikey almost no chance.

I have a hard time seeing him getting the better of even an aging Golovkin, but then I remember that Canelo was walking Golovkin down.... and while Canelo is indeed a tank, its possible that as Spence packs on the muscle to rise in weight that his punches become more imposing as well. Hard to say.

But I def give him a better shot at Canelo than Mikey had against him.

Great fight too, I think Canelo is incredible boxer, amazing talent and fun to watch.
But what really puts me off Canelo is the judging. Throughout his whole career he was protected by Golden boys handpicked judges, and to top it off, now the PED claims. Would Spence get a fair shake with the judges? Is Jacobs going to? Doubt it.

The only way anyone "beats" canelo is a KO but he is just too good atm.

That,s what really hurts Canelo in my eyes, its not his boxing ability or heart but the way he is managed.

i dont make him a favorite over either ggg or canelo, but hes got a shot, if it all lines up for him. he doesnt have the power to wear down a man that big, like he does with welters. but hes faster than you, and he can cover just as much ground as you. and tonight he showed he is also a very disciplined cerebral fighter. thats why he can beat hurd, cause he has the power to hurt hurd, while keeping from getting hurt himself.

Golovkin too big for him, in fact most MW would be. Plus, you need a bit of a punch to hang with GGG and I don't think Spence has it. If Golovkin can walk through your punches you've got big problems indeed.
