I think the lack of replies shows that Gayfeather isn't a big draw, period.

When he fought Gatti, DLH, and Hatton, the fans didn't show up to see him. They were there to see their favorite fighters. When Gayfeather fought Corely, Mitchell, and Judah, they weren't sellouts.

Do you honestly think Delahoya and Hatton would have done the same numbers without Floyd? I think both fighters benefited from fighting Mayweather in the same sense that Floyd benefited from them.

Like it or not, people wanted to see Floyd fight:deal

Hatton can fill 50,000 seats fighting a guy most have never heard of, same for DLH. If Floyd fought Forbes or Lazcano it wouldn't fill a church hall.

Well people always want to make the case that Delahoya vs any P4P king would have done big numbers, I kindly remind them that when he fought Hopkins, Bernard was the P4P number 1 fighter. I don't think that fight even did a million ppv buys.

Floyd, in 2007 did what he had to do when the spotlight was on him. He made people want to get to know more about him and that translated into big ppv buys. I not saying he did it on his own, but he was a major part of boxings renaissance whether people want to admit it or not

He did over 300k fighting Baldomir, Gatti, and Judah. He did at least 350k against Gatti.

Most fighters don't do that.....Cotto did less fighting Judah than Mayweather did I believe. It is what it is.

Yes, they would've done the same numbers without Floyd. Especially with the introduction of HBO countdowns. No one knew Floyd outside of the inner boxing circles before DLH.

But in the US, few knew Hatton before he fought Mayweather. I am not defending Mayweather. But everyone keeps pointing out that Hatton can fill a stadium, yada yada, but that's in the UK. Not the US. Hatton wouldn't have sold 800K plus PPV's in the States without Mayweather. In the UK, sure....but we have seperate numbers for that.
