I can honestly say I'm learning there are too many past fighters I have too little knowledge about to make a truly informed opinion on the matter.

ofcourse by "us" i dont mean you. i really dont think you're a real boxing fan. sorry.

So you're basically from the roy jones era. theres the 80s, 70s etc.
His stats may look good on paper but tell me this. how many prime ATG has he fought? chico? arturo? oscar? come on now man his resume is mediocre at best. :verysad

:good Too true, I said top 30 last week then took a closer look at the history of the sport and had to think it over again. :think The recency bias is strong but I think top 50 is still safe, certainly for the winner at least.

Corrales, Castillo,Canelo were all in there pirme and greats. Canelo not yet but we shall see. fought everybody in his era that is a HOFmer and around his weight class.

and resume is not based on "In there primes" its really did you fight him. it will help you little if there were in there prime but not by much. it doesnt matter what anybody says lewis has Tyson on resume! it would be somewhat better if Tyson was prime but Tyson is on lewis's resume FOREVER AND NOBODY CAN TAKE THAT AWAY!! So once he beats pac its on his resume forever. he will have defetead the only 8 weight class champ, how bout that?

Golovkin could hold 3 lineal titles at the same time if he was given the right chances

He'd also crush Duckweather like a random bug if Floydette ever had the ***** to fight him at 154

Resumes are like boxscores...a baseball player may have a bunt single of a Cy Young Award Winner , but its still a base hit. And there will be people who will claim it was a line-drive single to centerfield. Hell even inside-the-park homeruns are counted statiscally as a homerun...!!!

Just like in football, a 99 yard touchdown run scores the same amount of points as a 1 yard run...!!!

You are totally wrong my friend I actually feel sorry for Floyd
With his talent & the backing he has he really could be ranked up there in the same category as Ali Robinson etc. today . But the way he handled his career has prevented him from obtaining that status. He'll regret it later if he hasn't already.
As they say in on the waterfront movie I could have been really one of the best ever instead of just a contender:good

I find you disingenuous whenever you try to defend yourself as a non-hater and you pollute too many threads with petty and agenda driven attacks of Floyd's resume for my liking. You're going on the ignore list to save me from the frustration of any more of these discussions in the future :good

Nothing personal and I hope you enjoy the fight! :thumbsup
