Canelo is 20 Years old. The opposition he has faced at this time in his career has been more then adequate.

He showed some great skills in there, ferociousness... definitely showed some flaws in his defense.... but what is to be expected from a 20 year old prospect.. he is not de la hoya fresh from the olympics.

But Hatton is not a brawler he has always been a boxer to catch Canelo...

Don't forget he is 20 Years old, and has more then enough time to prove all you haters wrong when he faces the ELITE.

I dont hate Canelo, he is great.
i hate the fact that he fought for a title he didnt deserve against a smaller fighter

Remove the paper title that stupid GBP awarded him with and this was a good fight for a 20 year old prospect he entertained us, filled a stadium with 10K screaming fans, he is great for the sport.. specially to later mix it up with the good 154 pounders once he fully fine tunes his skills and upgrades his defense... he has all the time.

As I previously stated, he ran into a tough veteran who gave him some good experience. I would be more worried about his long term prospects if he didn't face adversity on the way up.

More to the point, give some credit to Hatton for hanging in there. A lot of fighters would have been looking for a soft stretch of canvas early in the fight.

This shouldn't have been a title match but like RJJ was saying, if I was in Canelo's place I'd take the title too when offered. He's a bit easy to hit and needs to work on defense, especially head movement, but he's exciting to watch so I'm a fan.

Good test but hatton is not a puncher. I want to see him in there with a puncher like cintron or even angulo and see if he can take a punch.

Cintron-Angulo-Kirkland--would love to see these guys fight canelo soon.

There's no way Canelo can walk through Lara's left hand, the way he did against welterweight Hatton. Lara by TKO.

It's shame these corrupt scumbags Sulaiman and DLH are creating hate for this kid. He's a nice kid, got massive crossover appeal, really should be like a great white hope to everyone who loves boxing. Instead he's going to be seen as a hype job bully-type who was given everything on a silver platter, when he's obviously worked hard boxing from age 15. Just wait till he starts defending that belt avoiding the top contenders.

Perfect fight for Alvarez for this stage of his career, A guy who will make him work and put in rounds. It was an ok performence, pretty much did what he was supposed to do, hopefully this gives him some good xp. Id like to see someone like a Gomez next.

The problem now though is, hes a 'champion', so he better start fighting champion level opponents, which means, imo, a loss will be coming soon, unless hes babied, which he shouldnt be considering hes now a 'champ'.
