You have to remember, when people first mentioned Pac-Oscar as a possibility, Pacquiao was still a 130 pound fighter and people thought it was some kind of sick joke. Even all the way to the fight itself, Hoya was a 3-1 favorite.

Diaz is whatever. But in Oscar's last three fights, he destroyed Mayorga, got a split decision loss with the #1 P4P fighter in the world and convincingly beat Forbes. People were SHOCKED that Pacquiao dismantled Hoya the way that he did.

People around here seem to have really short memories.

    No, he has expressed it:
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSNl0mVTxl8[/ame]
"Obviously he's a much better fighter than I thought he was...Regardless of how he beat DLH, he still beat DLH. Regardless of how he beat Hatton, he still beat Hatton...I don't think he's gonna beat Cotto. If he do, it's gonna be amazing to me if he beats Cotto. That tells me how good he really is..."

I was talking about Oscar De La Hoya, but yeah i agree, it was one-sided.

Let me preface this post by saying that, by quoting you, I'm NOT making some sort of personal attack. I'm relatively new to this board & it looks like a lot of fans take criticism of their favorite fighters as some sort of personal disrespect.

So, yeah, Floyd's the greatest defensive fighter/technician of the past decade plus some. I love watching him fight. He's THE complete fighter of this generation & the definition of a pure boxer; AND he's got power [that some people underrate]. No one else comes to mind in terms of all the skills in his skillset. I also love watching Pacquiao fight. We know what Pacquiao brings: speed, power, accuracy, tenacity, great stamina & conditioning, a unique style of movement; AND he's got a likable personality. If Pacquiao loses, IMO, there's no shame for him. Being #2 behind a guy who is lightyears ahead of all the rest is still great. They're both among my favorites, but a loss means less for Pacquiao than it does for Mayweather.

Floyd was right when he said that if he beats Pacquiao, some people will minimize it by saying that he was supposed to beat him. I totally understand when he says he's in a no-win situation in terms of critics' opinions.

But, appreciating Floyd's greatness doesn't necessitate minimizing Manny's greatness [& vice versa, of course].

It'd be nice if more people respected other fighters that aren't among their favorites. You don't have to like any fighter. But at least give respect where it is due.

******* is actually a badge of honour. Supporting a fighter who gives you your money's worth win or loss is more than I can ask for.

On the flip side, *******s have the bragging rights for the past few years.:happy:bbb:good

Right on man. I don't "hate" Manny. Hey if Manny gets it done, he gets due respect. I love boxing and can show the man respect for giving so much to the sport. Problem is that the respect only flows one way.

What I can't tolerate is the constant lies and distortions started by Arum and Team Pac that the media and *******s pick up and repeat like it is gospel. All of it is readily available on the web. Look it up. Hell much of it is on this site in the archives. Still they get on here as though they have been in an alternate reality spouting lies and distortions. If we like boxing let's talk boxing not repeat spin from a promotional camp!

It is never a personal issue with Pac fans. I love taking it to *******s though, hahaha.

I am as big a PBF fan as there is but PAC is to be respected....the dissing of floyd is ridiculous though as aside from cotto and now floyd he fought marquez to basically two draws and a shitty hatton and drained ODLH....his resume is awesome, he backs down from no challeng but he has fought guys he knew he would beat and make good money and legacy on....now this fight will truly prove who is the real best in the world....I think it will be floyd but if pac wins he is def an atg maybe even the atg
