if he comes into this thing unsure of himself as a result of pav/froch, he gets flattened again. if he comes into this thing sure of himself and his abilities and works on not blowing his load like a highschool kid getting laid for the first time early on in the fight, he should be able to make some noise.

Kessler held 2 titles at Super-Middle before he fought Calzaghe and since he retired Kessler is considered the best super-middle in the world and is the current WBA champ so how is he not proven?

It would not surprise me to see Taylor/Kessler in the final. I'm not predicting that because I am not sure where Jermain stands these days. However, if he beats Abraham, it means Pavlik and Froch did not ruin him, and if JT is not ruined, he's as good as anybody in this tourney.

I just don't like the idea of Taylor trying to win a decsion over German Boxing's favorite son in Germany!

True, he hasnt beaten any ''great fighters'' but he has beaten some good fighters. Him and Calzaghe were the dominint force in their division at the time and when he fought Calzaghe he gave a very good account of himself. In Taylors case he beat Hopkins twice but you have to remember they were very controversial decisions that went in his favour also his defenses werent too convincing either against Ouma and Spinks. I like Taylor and he is one of my favourite fighters but I think Kessler beats him

Im rooting for Froch in this tourney ebing a fellow Brit and also the fact that he is an entertaining puncher/brawler.

But no one could begrudge Jermaine Taylor a great run in this tourney, the guy never takes an easy fight.

If Froch doesnt win, I hope Ward comes through and wins the tourney he seems a well rounded guy and out of the opponents he seems to have the most speed and skills, but lack of power may let him down. Hell down Kessler in the 1st match , Kesslers to robotic

Jermain might look spectacular in a win over Abraham. I could see that happening. That will be his last hurrah though. He doesn't bat any better than .500 in this tournament. He certainly doesn't come away on top. As much as I ragged on the dude earlier in his career and have defended King Arthur, I'd actually be cheering Taylor on if he put on a clinic, which is actually plausible. Nice swansong for him.

kessler should be the favorite in this tourney. the thing is, all these guys have their own set of question marks; kessler included. i'll be rooting for taylor but i wouldnt lay a bet on him to beat kess...BUT i will say i think taylor gives kess a better run for his money moreso than anyone else in this tourney. its funny that it just so happens the guy i would think would give kess the second most trouble is his 1st round opponent. ward is the goods i think.

i agree that kessler has at the very least maintained this aura about him even though he hasnt done much in the ring as of late. Taylor does have the best resume by far of anyone in this tourney. in fact, he probably has a better resume than all the other fighters combined. BUT...kess has shown that he does have the skill set and the size/strength to win this thing. like is said though, he has his share of question marks as well; this layoff being one of them. if taylor and kessler can still bring it (and im sure kess can, but im worried about taylor) then that would be the best fight of the tourney, imo

One of my all time favorites, Danny "Little Red" Lopez, was thought to be all washed up at one point. He lost a title eliminator to Chacon, and then lost 2 of his next 3. A mere 18 months later he won the WBC title at 126, and ruled the division for nearly 4 years! Keep the faith bro!
