Let's have it - how many people think that Hopkins was robbed against Taylor?

He wasn't robbed either fight. They were both close due to nothing much happening in general. What's telling is that he showed Jermain so much respect. After watching Pavlik do it right I bet that Hopkins could get the job done.

You can argue that the first fight was a robbery because down the stretch Taylor was taking alot of punishment ... but the second fight not even close and if Taylor threw some uppercuts, he possibly couldve knocked Hopkins out.

Taylor was never close to knocking Hopkins out.

I can't vote b/c the poll options are so narrow. Why only include so few possibilities? Not everything is black and white, ya know. You should have included many, many, more options to make for a more accurate and legitimate poll.

    Idiot.

Hopkins gave away so many early rounds in the first fight, that he needed a knockdown to secure a win or at least a draw. He nearly got it when he had Taylor badly hurt late in the fight, but he couldn't quite get it. I gave the the fight to Taylor 7-5, could have been a draw, but a Hopkins win would have been Hopkins all of the close rounds

He wasnt robbed in either fight. People need to understand what the term robbed means. Close fights where a case can be made for either fighter doesnt constitute robbery.

If nobody won(close fights that weren't decisively clear close or wide for either fighter), then they should be mandatory DRAWS.

If a case can be made for the other person, you didn't win.

You'll still get judges calling it 116-112, like for the Johnson v. Dawson fight - politics & money always finds a way around any useful, sensible rule.

The first fight he lost fair and square.

He put a beat down on Taylor rounds 9-12 but thats only four rounds. I think I had maybe one more round for him so thats 7-5 in terms of rounds for Taylor because Hops was so inactive in the early fight.

He knows how fights are scored and he chosed to **** around for the first 8 rounds of the fight. Dominating the last 4 rounds doesnt win you the fight.

The second fight I would have to watch again. Hops started earlier but he also didnt dominate late like the other one. Id have to watch it and score it round by round. I remember agreeing with the decision though when I saw it.

the fights were both real close, no robbery.

Dunno about ya'll, but I scored the fight based on clean effective punching. The only person I saw getting hit with clean effective punches was not Hopkins.

I hate the word robbed...We toss it around every match now. I am a Big B-Hop (PHILLY) Phan...I scored I 115-113 B-Hop and a draw in the 2nd...so IMO he should not have lost the title...But no fight that is that close a robbery!
