I agree. It was a close fight but need not have been. Dirrell just had to apply a bit more pressure and no-one could have denied him victory. As the challenger and being away from home there is no excuse for his periods of inactivity and running during that fight. I hope he has learned from it as, in hindsight, this should have been an easy victory.
dirrell clearly won! But he hits like a light-weight and hes boring to watch!! AA will destroy him next match!! All hail king arthur
Good post. I told the people I watched the fight with that if I were training Dirrell, I'd tighten up his defense, and teach him to stay in the pocket and counter punch a lot more. The kid surprised me. He showed that he has the right mental/emotional structure to go a long way if he polishes up his skills a bit. Considering the guy he was fighting should have been disqualifed on, oh lets say, his 47th or 48th foul, Dirrell did good.
I was impressed with Round 11 and Round 12. The rest of it? Why the **** do people find that **** impressive but blow a big dump of **** on Floyd Mayweather Jr for doing what he does? Mayweather Jr moves, sure - but he also plants and counters, then moves again - he's not just running laps around the ring.
I thought Dirrell won, but neither fighter showed himself capable of winning the super six. Dirrell has a lot to learn, and against the better fighters in the championship he might take a beating.
Yeah that Laurence Fishburne can act. And did you see that fight at the end when Neo jumped all in the dude and blew him up that rocked.............Oh you mean the the wannabe Roy Jones from last night. Yeah pretty good. He needs to take atdvantage of his speed more and be more offensive. He seem scared at first but relaxed to late. I still think he won. Good movie though.
Difficult. I only saw rounds 10-12 on youtube, Froch won rd.10 (wasn't complete on tube), Dirrell 11, and Dirrell was winning the 12th round until he gave it unnecessarily away by coasting the last minute instead of continueing to fight back. If the whole fight was like that, I can see why Froch was given rounds on activity that Dirrell could have won with just doing a bit more. If the majority of rounds was like the 11th, Dirrell should have won.
We all knew who was the best boxer before the fight... We all knew Froch would come out trying to run over Dirrell and make the boxingmatch into a streetfight. I personally scored the fight 113-114 Dirrell, but have no problem with the decission whatsoever. A more active Dirrell would have bagged it. I think Dirrell will learn alot from this loss and become a dominating factor in the SMW division. Excellent speed and really nice counter punching.
