    For those of you who think Mayweather is a better welterweight than Mosley, I'm not seeing it, and I'm certainly not seeing it in a head to head sense, either.

    Mayweather might pose some problems for Mosley, but by and large, he does NOT possess the traits which have historically troubled Mosley in the past.

    Floyd is the #1 fighter.

    Well, I think you know this is one I've long wanted to see. I really think Mosley still has what it takes to win. At the very least, Mosley has what it takes to make Floyd ****ing fight outside his comfort zone for a change.

    And I agree with you on Cotto--Mosley (who I thought won their first encounter) definitely performs on a much higher level in the rematch.

    The top welter weights are cotto, margarito and shane. BOTTOM LINE. They all three fought each other. With no true advantage in the 3 way series. However, shanes destruction of margarito and plus the fact that the cotto fight was close gives shane the crown. Plus shane was once the welterweight king before fighting Forrest. Shane fought luiz collazo. Shane fought basically all the top welterweights champs since he jumped in 2000.

    FLOYD HAS FOUGHT NO ONE TO EARN THE WELTERWEIGHT TITLE. a blown up judah or a baldomir who wins vacant titles is does not legitimze u as the welterweight champ. GET THE **** OUT OF HERE>

    I agree, Shane gives Floyd his toughest fight in my opinion. I am a big Shane fan also, and those two reasons are why I want to see it happen.

    i still have cotto #1 WW and #2 mosley well because of the split decision and because i think that the W of margo from cotto is still a Q?

    Oh, come on! That's not the least bit objective.

    Cotto wins a razor thing DISPUTABLE decision against Mosley.

    He then got his ass kicked by Margo. Even if you assume his gloves were loaded, that takes nothing away from the fact that Magarito EASILY stood up to the best Cotto could throw. Mosley, on the other hand, beat Margo down like a dog, and if Mosley and Cotto fight again, Mosley wins and wins big.

    Cotto lost something in that Margarito fight and he ain't never getting it back.

    No ****ing WAY is Cotto or Floyd the #1 welterweight right now.

    That honor clearly belongs to Sugar Shane Mosley.

    I'm a Mosley fan as well, but he didn't win the Cotto fight... ppl should get over it... Btw, a win over a fighter (Margarito) in no way reverses a loss against another one! Thank you...

    In fact, Shane probably looked TOO scary against Margarito!:lol: Sort of hurts his chances of landing these big fights in a way I imagine. I really like how he fought with Nazeem in his corner. He didn't change Shane, but I think he had him fight a bit smarter by better utilizing his natural talents.

    So Cotto won a disputable decision by a razor thin margin, exactly as I stated.

    And you're wrong on the other point. When Margarito defeated Cotto he CLEARLY became the man at welterweight, and when Mosley subsequently destroyed Margo, he became the man and rightly so.

    There can be no debate here.

    Until someone proves otherwise, Mosley IS the top dog at welterweight, plain and simple.
