Can you plz elaborate on what did Cotto lose in that fight, because honestly I see the same fighter (just a few more tat's):D... BTW, you could say the same thing about SM when he fought Mayorga, a guy that was destroyed by Tito and DLH previously but years later gave Shane a marathon for his money... then, Mosley came back as good as new, or even better in his next couple of fights! But maybe you know something I don't. If u do, plz, by all means, don't hesitate to educate me! :smooch

He lost his aura of invincibility and his confidence, IMO. Sure, these are intangibles that are impossible to measure, so this is speculation on my part, but the Cotto that fought Clottey certainly seemed different than the pre-Margo version.

I do believe he lost something that night against Margarito and I don't think he'll ever get it back.

I think much is made of that Mayorga fight. Ricardo is an odd fighter, he runs hot & cold. He was as motivated as I saw him that night since around the time of his fights with Forrest and Spinks. He also came in at a very big 170 pounds, and I always felt Mosley was a tad too small for 154.

I was one of the few people picking Shane to beat Margarito. People said I was crazy, citing Shane's fight with Mayorga and Cotto's fight with Margo as reasons to dismiss my view.

I'm wrong plenty of times, but I wound up being right on this one and I think I am right about Cotto, too. He is still a technically sound fighter with very good skills, but I think something is missing that he will never get back with regards to his mental state.

True, but I started getting really fired-up last week when I realized 24/7 was already about to start.

I was also psyched with the Six Myths article that has me thinking about this fight more and more.

Did you happen to see the "Six Myths" article on the front page, LukeO?
