Let's move forward. The rematch will be even better imo. There's a lot of animosity #1 p4p vs #2 p4p

At this point, both these men stand at the top. It was a very close affair, scores were so close that either men coulda won. Sergey got the short end of the stick this time, but he did say next time he's going to completely destroy Andre.

    #1 p4p - Andre Ward
    #2 p4p - Sergey Kovalev

#2 will be even more dramatic, Sergey is angry, I'm sure Ward will be angry that his victory will be deemed as illegitimate by some people

Sergey wants his belts back and he's already talking **** about Ward (Ward is a simple fighter) etc etc. I'm sure Ward wants to thrash him as well. The buildup will be epic.

    Let's get it on.

    WardKovalev2.

    For the 3 belts.

Stevenson can **** off for now.

Can't wait for the rematch. Even though Ward got the nod both men have something to prove, neither man really showed he was truly the superior, it was too close a fight for one fight to decide which was the better fighter.

If Kovalev wins the rematch maybe we'll see a trilogy. 2 top P4P fighters, evenly matched in the same division willing to fight one another is exactly what boxing needed after a horrible year.

Who are you and what happened to the normal MVC? It was a close fight and a great fight, and I have newfound massive respect for Ward, coming back after being knocked down, figuring out his distance, and tactically controlling the mid rounds. No one else at light heavyweight really matters, and there's enough buzz and controversy that a rematch should sell more than the first one. Strike while the iron's hot and make the rematch right away.

It was a poor man's Golovkin v Brook being that GGG is Kovalev's father in sparring and Brook is a superior technician to Ward.

Honestly if Brook fought more like Ward he would have lasted longer in the fight and could have potentially won in the same way that Ward did.

What about Canelo? And GG? And Chocolatito? And Lomachenko? Given how close and controversial this fight was, I don't see how Ward or Kovalev can leapfrog all these other guys that were ahead of them. Lomachenko has a chance next week to make his case for why he's in the P4P discussion, even though he only has so few fights, he's still got to be in the conversation. I don't think anyone will know who is the best P4P truly until we see the rematch and until Canelo vs GG happens.

Andre Ward got the win but because it was an even fight, he will lose his no.1 spot if Roman Gonzalez beats Cuadras II.

As for this topic though, Roman Gonzalez is still #1 and...Golovkin is #2 based on decisions. Ward is at best 3 and that's if you a stickler for the decisions.

How the fk is golovkin 2? Who did he beat? Also if you had Kovalev beating Ward and won't accept that he lost, then he would have Kovalev above Golovkin. You've been exposed as a little g fan girl.

What are your reasons? Maybe there's something I'm missing, here. The way I've seen it as of now is that Gonzalez carries foward a body of work that made him an ATG, Andre Ward carries forward a body of work that only just got him into HOF.

He's been more dominant than anyone else in the sport currently. You can't argue that. He has never had a close fight and we haven't see anyone go 12 rounds with him. That matters.

If I was blind Golovkin fan I would have him above Roman Gonzalez.

I agree this one is a ideal candidate for a rematch, This reminds me of floyd vs maidana 1 in that for me i thought floyd did the much more clean and accurate work however lots of people claimed maidana won. Floyd wanted the rematch to make the win more convincing as that fight would have forever had a black cloud over it to a lot of people. I feel this fight is similar in that way.
