Let's move forward. The rematch will be even better imo. There's a lot of animosity #1 p4p vs #2 p4p

HE has never fought anyone with a fking pulse either, unless you count a WW. If you give Kovalev the win he just beat one of the best p4p guys, and one of the best boxers of this era. How the fk you going to rate GGG over that? He also has wins over Pascal and Hopkins who are better than anyone GGG has fought.

Had Ward Kovelev been more decisive, then maybe, but not with such a controversial fight. I was hugely impressed by Ward, and his guts and determination to pull off this win, and he definetly deserves to be ahead of Kovalev in the P4P list until the rematch. But ahead of Canelo? Golovkin? Gonzalez? Winner of Loma / Walters?? That's where the debate will rage on. I could see Ward possibly slightly ahead of Golovkin, given that Golovkin's last fight was vs a freakin welterweight, and Ward has shown himself to be a far more dynamic fighter tonight and showed the ability to make adjustments vs top level competition unlike Golovkin.

When I think P4P, I think of complete all around boxers who have a wide repertoire of punches. Golovkin and Kovalev are high level fighters, but they are plodders who walk you down. Canelo has it all, power, speed, and ability to out box you. Ward shown a lot of that punch variety tonight and until Golovkin can put on a performance like we saw tonight vs top level competitor, I think you have to put Ward and Canelo above Golovkin.

Ward should not have been in the P4P top ten prior to this fight. He hasn't done anything recently to warrant that.

Hopkins is old, okay. He is decent even at his age, but he is still an old man. That is not a great win. Pascal is limited, but Kov did beat him badly. Factor in how these fighters are winning and Golovkin comes out much better than Kov. Do you think that if GGG was in there with someone like Chilemba that they wouldn't be stopped? Golovkin appears to be the better fighter. I can see your argument, but I do not agree with it at all.

How many world champions has GGG fought? 1 LOL, unless you count a welterweight. GGG's resume is an utter joke, Crawford is above him p4p, Canelo is, if loma beats Walters he is too.

p4p isn't based on who gets the most knock outs and you don't rate someone higher p4p because they can knock out an opponent that another guy cant. if that was the case floyd/pac would be nowhere near p4p after 2011. Wilder would also be a top 10 p4p guy easily.

You can't put Canelo above of Golovkin are you crazy? The man took maybe 2 rounds at best vs Mayweather, should have had a draw with Trout without the knockdown, arguably lost to Lara, and was comfortably outboxed by Amir Khan prior to the KO. There is NO WAY he should be above GGG. At best he is above Loma. And that's without you factoring in the fact that he dropped his belt to Golovkin.

It isn't simply knockouts, but dominance. If these fights were competitive but Golovkin won by KO you'd have an argument, but these men are getting comfortably outboxed and KO'd. Golovkin has lost about...3 rounds in the past few years. Other guys lose more rounds than that in a fight and they don't even have to fight good competition to do so. Murray is a guy that probably should have beaten Sergio Martinez when he was prime, Macklin is a guy that gave him problems. I'm not saying that these are world beaters, but that means a lot when you are steamrolling guys that other pound for pound greats struggled with.

When you're fighting complete bums you don't lose many rds. Like I said he's fought 1 world champ in his whole career lmfao unless you count a WW.
WAIT did you just say Martinez was in his prime when he fought Murray? Did you just start watchinmg boxing?

Lol yeah prime was exaggeration. I really meant he was still considered the top of the MW division. It's still a solid win and very dominant which is mainly what I'm going by.

Martinez was shot to pieces when he fought Murray. THe fact that Murray could not stop him or destroy him like tiny little WW/LMW cotto did shows how limited he is. I had Murary winning in a close fight. No disrespect if you are a new boxing fan but you really are coming off as one, not that there's anything wrong with that. A lot of new fans really like GGG, he is exciting, but really he's fought no one.

Dominance matters. No one has been more dominant than Golovkin. You can't deny this. Even still it is a moot point since we're really arguing about #1 who I consider to be Roman Gonzalez.

Dominance matters but opposition level is more important. GGG has never beat anyone above the DeMarco that Broner fought. Let's say Broner fought DeMarco level guys for last 15 fights, and knocked them all out like he did to DeMarco would you rate him that hihg p4p?

Sure I can. For one, he's the Lineal Champion of Golovkin's Division ! Golovkin hasn't fought anyone of note, compared to Canelo who has fought and beat countless legends and name opponents.

As far as stylistically, Canelo is a 154-lb tank, and has a more natural and fluid boxing style than Golovkin. Golovkin, like Kovalev, is a plodder, who walks you down and throws straights all day. Canelo works the body, throws hooks, throws upper cuts, he throws all sorts of creative punching combinations. In comparison, Golovkin is robotic and monotonous.

As far as Canelo winning maybe 2 rounds vs Mayweather, maybe you're right, but maybe Mayweather only won like 1 round on him and the rest were toss ups. This at a 152-lb catchweight that favored Mayweather. How many times has Golovkin fought a slick boxer like Floyd Mayweather Jr? Golovkin's never been in a fight like that in his life!

He has no experience being in a boxing chess match, really Golvokin's never been in a fight where he's had to make adjustments. Trout, Lara, and Khan are skilled boxers, the likes of which Golovkin has never faced. Canelo won all those fights, he wasn't being comfortably outboxed by Khan, Khan won a few rounds, and caused Canelo some difficulty, then Canelo adjusted and figured him out and Knocked him the F out.

It's humorous to me that you use Canelo's wins over Trout and Lara as reasons to rank Golovkin higher than him on the P4P list. The reason Canelo won those fights was due to quality punching, not volume. Golovkin is a volume puncher, like Kovalev. Straight up and down, like Floyd once said about Golvokin. Meaning there's not the kind of punch variety we see from guys like Ward, Canelo, Gonzalez, or Loma.

P4P can be defined however you like it, but really it's about skills regardless of weight class. It's not just about being a one dimensional fighter. Not only is Canelo a more skilled more adaptive fighter than Golovkin, but he's more battle tested, and he's fought some of the most skilled boxers in the sport. Golovkin is straight up and down, he comes at you, walks you down, and throws straights. That's all he does. Guys like Canelo and Ward are so much more sophisticated as far as their style and technique. When you take that into consideration, add into quality of opposition, it's really no comparison. That's not to say that Golovkin can't out-volume Canelo on his best day, but thus far I don't see what exactly justifies Golovkin being higher than Canelo.

If Adrien Broner never lost, dominated the way Golovkin has, owned 3 out 4 belts, was considered the top of his weight class by a wide margin, and had the other belt owner avoiding him, then sure.

What does belts have anything to do with being p4p, when he's beat one world champion LOL. C'mon. One, yes one. And 160 is one of the weakest divisions in the sport.

The lineal champion after beating Cotto in a controversial decision. And he dropped his belt to Golovkin.

Golovkin has more varied offense than what you're giving him credit for. If he was as one dimensional as people make him out to be he wouldn't be having any success in boxing at all. Do you know how easy it is to stop what people accuse Golovkin of doing? It's something that you learn how to counter after not even a year of boxing training. Another thing, do you know how long you last in boxing if all you have is power but no skills? Not long at all because you can't even effectively use that power. The argument that Golovkin is a slow plodder doesn't even make sense. There isn't a lot of flair to his style, but that doesn't mean that what he does is bad and one dimensional.

...I guarantee Golovkin would have done better than Canelo vs Mayweather. I don't like hypothetical arguments like this, but really...****ing Robert Guerro did better than Canelo. Maidana did better than Canelo. That's says a lot to me.

He was being outboxed by Khan. Prior to the knockout he won about 2 rounds total. It wasn't even an adjustment as much it was body shots, the new weight class, and Khan's idiocy that led to the KO. Danny Garcia handled Khan better for ****s sake.
