Let's name some fighters whose timing, accuracy and distance judgment allowed them to outbox faster and more defensive boxers.

This is a rare skill in boxing.

    I think Kovalev qualifies.

    Mike Weaver.

t aEveryone he fought had faster hands and a lot more speed. And usually a better defense as well. And Weaver was a disadvantage in the reach department too. But once Hercules landed enough to get them down to his speed, watch out.

Monzon was the first that came to mind, and his defense was always excellent as well.
    Kovalev also.

Greg Haugen when he beat Camacho.-2piece

True, but Camacho was a bit of a runner. Haugen a forward moving tough guy.

He didn't do tell well against Whitaker, but that was a different kettle of fish. Pea looked like he was from another planet in this fight.

Marquez certainly qualifies, although Pac isn't a defensive fighter, he has a sizeable speed advantage that his rival overcame and nuetralised every time they met.

Griffin against Toney, although both decisions are somewhat disputed

A few mentions of more recent years would be Pascal against Chad Dawson, Abril timed Rios very well despite not getting a very well earned victory
