Nah, come on man, Wilder's chin isn't glass. It's not brilliant, but it's good enough to keep him in a fight where he's taking flush shots from heavy handed guys, at least long enough for him to last the round, get a second wind, and come back with a sudden explosive combination that bails him out with a KO win.

Fury was just putting it on him from the opening bell, and really going for it. I'm surprised Wilder was able to keep on his feet till the seventh, because he was shipping some insane damage.

Baer is basically a smaller, cruder Jewish version of Wilder. He was a horrendous fighter, technically speaking, and his power wouldn't be anything special today. You need to fast forward to the 60s before you begin to see heavyweights that can compete, punching-wise, to modern-day heavyweights.

No one said he was a monster puncher. He certainly hit hard enough to smash deontay up though

Wilder was wobbling after being hit with a Fury jab. Could you see Holyfield, M. Tyson, Mercer or Ali being wobbled by a Fury jab?

This fight would be determine by whose chins give out first and I wager that would be Wilder's chin first.

Not a fair chin of test, because Max will be physically much smaller (unlike in most of his fights), the range alone will not work in his favor.

In the modern era, Max Baer will be better off fighting at Light Heavyweight as his walk in weight for half his career was in the 190s & his height at 6'02"

Not the biggest fan of Foreman's commentary when he was with HBO, but one thing he mentioned on numerous occasions is just how much damage a repeatedly landed stiff jab will do to a fighters neck and back muscles and serve to take stamina away. He was always saying this, and coming from a guy who sparred/apprenticed with Liston, who has always been mentioned as an ATG level jabber, and then George being the same, does seem to give the opinion much credence

Losing his balance isn't the same as being hurt. Wilder doesn't have good balance. Nothing new. And I never compared his chin to that of Tyson, Mercer etc, so don't know why they get brought up.

I feel he has beef with the Fury's still, that's why he bigged up Wilder so much, but he wasn't on his own, most of America were rating Wilder as a force that had a chance against anyone ever with that right hand. There has been just as big punchers that have never won a title, Wilder has been well looked after to get where he got to !

He showed heart, but whats the point if you cant compete, you need saving. He didn't take Fury's best shots at all, if he had he would've gone the distance !

I do think once he sits down on his shots Fury, then he maybe one of the ones at the top with every shot, not the one punch of say Wilder or Joshua, but everything regular, its very heavy handed, them body shots he was hitting Wilder with echoed, theyd do damage to everyone

I don't think anyone is suggesting he is a great puncher.
What happened in this fight is that he was more aggressive, hit DW with more power shots which had a cumulative effect that tired and busted him up.
