Much like a thread I was reading the other week about Pernell Whitaker (although I'm not trying to put him on that pedastal at all; yet anyway), where the general consensus was: he's over-rated by some, under-rated by others.

Secondly, boxing doesn't work like that. Mayweather may be above average at everything. Even great at a couple. But a fighter who is great at most things and bad at one may still beat him because he is so great in the other categories that it covers up the deficiency.

 

Exactly. Duran was a complete fighter too, but anyways I also wanted to point out that Mayweather is susceptible to pressure fighters. And yes I know someone is going to bring up Hatton but he doesn't apply good pressure. Someone like Cotto applies technical pressure which surely would give Mayweather fits
