Maybe so but why does that matter? You're acting as if his whole career hinges on a fight with Cotto. He also didnt fight Hatton or Tszyu at 140. He didnt fight Spadafora or Dorin at 135.

The reason people keep saying he doesn't owe us anything is because he doesn't. It's like people have set up imaginary criteria he must fulfill before he can be called an all time great. It's a subjective topic to which there are no right or wrong answers.
