Lets put this topic to bed: JMM can't beat any current top jr welter or welter period

Something like that, 140 is still a conquerable division... Khan and maidana might be the only ones to pose a problem...147 would be to much, styles make fights and just because he can be competitive with pac doesn't mean he can take on a 160 berto, not even pac is doing that.

 

there is no resason why marquez can't takeover 140, marquez is an elite fighter, everyone at 140 still has to prove they are at that level. people forget that marquez is the most accurate puncher in the sport, when he lets his hands go there is no fighter in the sport that can match him, even pacquiao got bullied from side to side when marquez got going.

marquez can beat all the fighters at 140. stylistically khan is bad for him because of his speed and size, but bradley, alexander and maidana are made for marquez.

welterweight is probably a step too far, but fights between him and mosley would be close, if mora hurt mosley then there is no reason why marquez can't, when he gets on the inside and lets them uppercuts go then shanes chin will have to stand up or marquez would finish him.

 

I give him a good chance with Alexander but ultimatly who gives a ****, the man has nothing to prove, I mean he's not even a big lw. He's an atg and one of mexico's greatest ever fighters. The only reason he took that fight with floyd was for a career high payday. He's the best lw in th world and no matter what weight PAC fights at jmm is still calling him out.

 

Are you being sarcastic, as JMM's fights at LW have been against the current title holders and the number #1 challenger (at the time).

Nobody is saying he has to face all of them, just face some one in 140 or higher to say you are legit.

I don't think anyone KO's JMM with the exception of Khan or Maidana. But I do think it is legit to say he will get TKO'd.

PBF does not have KD power like he did in the lower weights.

 

There is a reason why he is campaigning at 135.

The adage in boxing is that as you go up in weight, the purse also goes up. So logically, you want to go higher in weight division.

 

I'd take Marquez over anyone at 140 barring Bradley, that would be a tough close fight that could go either way but I'd favor Marquez over the others guys there. The only one I'd see giving him problems would be Khan with his speed, but JMM is very accurate and Khan isn't hard to find, so I think he'd begin to wear him down and land at will.

 

So why is JMM not in the mix at 140 if so many here are favoring him over the 140's instead of fighting Katsidis (WTF) and Diaz?
