Let's relive Ward vs Dawson, Lineal 168 vs Lineal 175. Unbelievable performance.

Good win but could have been so much better if the fight would have happened at 175 or even a catchweight.

Dawson was the lineal lightheavyweight champion, top 10 pfp, and coming off a win over Hopkins. If Ward beats him for the 175 pd title then Dawson is the best win of his career to date. The fight happening at 168 diminishes the win.

Dawson's performances since their fight have taken even more shine off of Ward's win.

Even with the negative marks against Ward's win he still gets credit for a dominant performance against a good fighter.

 

A tainted win against a drained opponent, doesn't matter that Dawson was a good LHW, it'd be like DeGale winning at 168 vs Kovalev..

 

Bad Jaw Clowns lol! Isn't he the bum who couldn't last 1 minute in the ring with Chickenson at his own weight? Why would anybody with decent skills would dehydrate this bum when you can just bit.chslap him out of there at his own weight?

 

Isn't the rumour that Dawson got KO'd in training for this fight by Edison Miranda?

Regardless, if you are getting stopped by someone with the power of Ward then you know there are serious chin issues.

 

Chad Dawson up until the Ward fight had stood up to far bigger punchers than Ward, in Diaconou, Pascal, Adamek, Tarver, Johnson, Mendoza, Ding a Ling Wilson etc... his issues with training camp were well documented. He was appx 173 the day before weigh in (if memory serves). No one believes it was a chin issue.

Chad was ripped at 175lbs and completely ruined his body going down to a division he hadn't competed at in 6 years. His ensuing fights show as much.

Didn't get KO'd but rocked by Miranda and the sparring session essentially ended. Yes

no he never demanded that he said he would do it if thats what it takes that does not seem like someone demanding something

and ofcourse ward held him to that statement , dawson himself said he wanted the fight at 175

 

it was not even a catch weight WARD BROUGHT HIM DOWN TO HIS OWN WEIGHT CLASSES thats worse

a catch weight fight would of even been better then dawson having to go down to a NEW weight class

 

Pascal doesn't seem to get nearly the credit he deserves for taking Chad's 0 at 175.
