Being on the Contender got him to were he is now.

There's no way he would have gotten fights with Gatti or Tackie if it wasn't for the Contender.

The series takes those with little to no name and boost them up.

If Gomez beats Cotto - do you know how many "Cotto was Overrated" Threads we would see?

And don't forget - Gomez was fighting around Middleweight on the Contender - so he showed that he can take a decent punch.

If that was too happen i really doubt PBF would fight him. A guy that can win those two fights is a serious threat so PBF will say he is just a contender and no money in it.

I think it would be the opposite.

Mayweather will look at it as an easy payday and promote the **** out of this fight.

For a guy that beats Cotto and/or Cintron/Margarito - there will be a good payday for someone.

the only small difference between baldo and a hypothetical gomez beating cotto and margo/cintron winner is this small minut itzy bitzy thing called lineal ww champ. if baldo wasn't the REAL ww champ then the two wouldn't be different at all. That's the problem with all these sanctioning bodies... people get confused about the difference between the champion and the titlists.

Yes, but my point was that if Mayweather gets little credit for beating Baldomir after he pulled 2 big upsets and won the Lineal title in the process of pulling them, he will get little credit for beating Gomez in this scenario who won't have accomplished the same feat.

    OK, by chance..

That scenario will only be possible depending on how well these "FLOYD HATERS" market GOMEZ across all boxing forums.. :rasta

Gotcha, what i'm saying is that IF Gomez beats marg/cintron and especially cotto, PBF has no where to turn to. All the big fights would be gone. Sure you'll have those saying he should still fight Cotto but what for? Or those who say fight Gomez... But again i ask: what for? Baldo had a streak of 19 w's going into his match w/ PBF, Gomez would have what? 6 or so? He would have to fight the rest of the WW's or a good portion of em...and that would take years before he would be ready.

the answer youre looking for is . .

"Floyd doesnt have to fight anyone ever again, he's already the GOAT, he's better than SRR and SRL put together, Basilio couldnt carry his jockstrap, he would have boxed circles around Ali, he would have KO'd Foreman with one punch" :nut

Floyd will never reach that pinnacle. And no that was not the answer I was looking for.

Is Cotto his mandatory? Can't be....I thought other sanctioning bodies didn't rank the others' champion?

Anyways, I offer no excuses or opinions. I think he should fight Cotto now. However, in this scenario, styles would be used as an excuse by his detractors and Gomez holding 2 belts as opposed to the one that Cotto holds will be used as an excuse by his fans.

Show me where someone "SERIOUSLY" said Floyd was greater then SRR and would box circles around Ali.

Also, show me, where have I defended the DLH rematch?

Or are you going to stick to your. Floyd ducked Zoo. Yet both Floyd and Zoo were signed to different networks.
