Canelo beat Trout, period. Canelo fought a smart fight and he has executed his game plan very good but I'm just saying that right now he hasn't too much top level exp. besides the Trout fight.

Floyd has tons of experience at a highest level unlike Canelo who has 1 fight at a top level i.e the fight with Trout. This thing I wanted to highlight here.

And I refuse to believe that if Canelo would've had another 2 or 3 fights with top level opposition wouldn't have been able to make 154 lbs for a fight with Floyd. Nor the fact that Floyd would've been retired till then cuz even right now he still has another 4 fights left besides the fight with Canelo.

Anyway maybe this is the right moment and a wise choice in terms of business for this fight to happen at this time.

first off. canelo beat trout. wasnt that close imo

2nd. the floyd/canelo fight is now or never. floyds getting old fighting someone like canelo he cannot take the fight when he is even older then he is now. then canelo can lose in the meantime and also how much longer will he be at 154 . he mite have to go up to 160

Experience wouldn't hurt, specially championship experience.

Again, most people seem to be thinking a little too much as a fan. It's fair enough, none of us is actually Canelo. "Experience wouldn't hurt, specially championship experience" says one. Sure, but who plays roulette with the largest payday they are ever likely to receive (by some order of magnitude) by saying 'no' when broadly ready for a fight? Which professional fighter?

Sure maybe someone who already has a vast fortune, but Canelo is trying to MAKE that fortune at the moment. If he says no, and heads off to build this experience some of you think is so essential, all that will happen is Mayweather might overlook him and he will lose the biggest fight of all. In the real world... people sign for tens of millions to have a fight. Unless there is some overwhelming reason why not to. Either you already have 75 million in the bank, or the competition is your brother.

Trout's weak jab was better than Caneto's non-existant jab.

It was enough to own the center of the ring and keep Canelo spellbound.

Trout won the inside game as well scoring the best bodyshots.

Canelo scored a knockdown and a few shots here and there...not nearly enough outside of texas.

Trout SET THE PACE and made Canelo's back touch the ropes a lot more than did his.

Now we know why that fight wasnt in Vegas..:deal

    Sure..and I'm not alone.

The running red-head:lol: didn't do nearly enough to win....scored a knockdown and a few POTSHOTS but not NEARLY enough to win outside of Texas.

Funny how ya'll like runners all of a sudden.

Canelito can't hold the middle of the ring to save his life...:deal

dude, besides Canelo , out there are not so many big names/draws for Floyd to generate huge PPV numbers. So I think, even if Canelo would've chosen to not fight Floyd and have a few fights ( 2 or 3 ) with top level fighters and win them, Floyd still would've been interested to fight him cuz out there aren't too much good draws like Canelo is !

Floyd needs Canelo as much as Canelo needs Floyd. Both can sell fights individually.

the chances of canelito having any success at 160 is pretty much close to zero and anyone that even mentions him moving up is fairly clueless.

in fact the chances of alvarez cleaning out 154(beating vanes, lara, james, molina and rosado)without losing is also close to zero.

anyone that thinks a 5'7" guy with suspect stamina, short legs and no real one-punch power will be successfully fighting 160's has not followed boxing for very long.

the above descrtiption fits pazienza without vinnys workrate and footwork.

I didn't say he would be successful. I am saying, however, that he is growing and will have a much harder time making 154, if he even manages to do so. I said the same thing about Broner, and the guy is at 147 already.

Canelo is a stocky young man and I suspect his endurance issues stem from cutting too much weight.

PS: I followed boxing from 2001, been doing it myself for 5 years. Canelo doesn't have the body type for cutting weight successfully, it's usually tall lanky guys like Pavlik, Hopkins, Dela Hoya etc. Canelo is short, barrel bodied and tends to grow in width every year, from added muscle. Guys like him are always at a disadvantage later on, and usually peak at young age. David Tua is of similar build, 5'10 but couldn't fit anywhere lower than heavyweight, despite being mainly muscle in his prime.

Now, maybe there are supplements out there that will battle genetics and keep him at 154, given he subjects himself to a grueling regimen and diet, but I imagine that would be detrimental to his health and impact his abilities in the ring.

    :yep

Canelito's fans are blinded by his red hair and white skin.

If he looked like Rios or Angulo he'd be lucky to be on Telemundo.:deal

Even if he stays at 154 he's toast.

He is just not that good or strong as imagined.

Shane gassed against Floyd but not Canelito.....hmmmm

Alvarez' stanima isn't the issue....it's the bodyshots that weaken him:deal

Bodyshots weaken anyone though, it's not like he is unique in that sense. And Shane was an old man when he fought Floyd, an old man that was cut off PEDS. It was almost a given that he would gas.
