It would be imossible for Ortiz to have been disqualified because there would be no basis for it in the rules.. There's nothing about illegal about punching a guy during a live round of a boxing match.

I know the rules, but can't you picture Cortez turning round having not seen the punches, and instead of counting like he did to Ortiz, disqualifying Victor?
I think it was Star power as much as anything that had Cortez start the 10 count.

I'm not a Floyd fan but I am thrilled that he knocked Ortiz out like that. What's the deal with everyone wanting to touch gloves with Mayweather? First Mosley, then Ortiz. For a guy that is labelled a coward, he seems to be the only one there that wants to FIGHT!

In all honesty, I wouldn't be mad at Ortiz one bit. I'd be pissed at Floyd for allowing himself to get caught with his hands down.

Thats a good picture, looks like Floyd is on his way out. Ortiz will probably show his grand kids that shot and say he was kicking ass untill they grow up and google the fight only to get thier hearts broke.
