There was an article on The Scene yesterday quotes Cleverly saying "5 or 6 more fight's, then i'm out" If he lost tomorrow night could that speed up his retirement plans?
He wont lose imo, but if he did it could be the best thing that happens him. Cleverley is a good fighter but he wont realise his potential as long as hes got a cheerleader instead of a trainer. Seriously, in his last fight he acted the bollox , got tagged and stunned and all his dad said was along the lines of " careful now " while half laughing. Dean Powell has been the the only sensible voice in his corner last few fights. Threw a few ****s into him when he needed it against the French lad. Its like his dad just dont want to upset him
Rematch. As Cleverly is such a brilliant world champion, surely the champion will have a rematch clause in the contract.
I prefer Bellew but I think Clev is going to win. They both have huge gaps in their defence. Neither is going to be considered world class in the eyes of a proper fan any tme soon. Against Bhop, both would be ground down, against no fans dawson outworked and against Pascal 50-50. It's a good fight for the uk public though, they're almost on the same level.
W@rren blatantly wants to match him with Enzo and sell it off another manufactured beef. Might be a bit high-risk for Fwank if he loses though.
I think Bellew would be more keen to take on the big guns, while Cleverley could end up on the first ten Calzaghe years crap. But I agree, Fwank is clearly keen to match up Enzo and Nathan in cardiff!
I think Clevery is too, parden the unintentional pun, clever for Bellew and doesn't lose. But, that siad, if he does, as the OP has asked, I see a re-match within a year (providing he's not been blown out in a round) and he'll take that. He can only lose if he hasn't trained correctly or under-estimates Bellew.
