And beats them so there's no argument whatsoever and defends at least once/twice. How high would you rate him of the hw's of the last 25 years?
Definitely top 5 for me. Probably behind just Lewis, Holyfield and Tyson. But beating one of them is questionable. Let alone both and then he has openly stated hundreds of time he isn't the least bit interested in defending them at all either.
If he beat both convincingly, a couple of defences wouldn't make a difference in my opinion. He would be as well retiring if that scenario unfolded.
He might beat Matthew, but I hope Ricky's not seriously thinking of coming back. No way would it put him in the top 25 all-time though, or even the top 10 of the last 25 years ..... but they're a step up from Audley.
It would rank him as unified champ and not many could say that. H2H he knows himself, but he would make his mark.
i dont rate the klits...only where they are due to the lack of anything else in the hw div...... haye is quality but he is far from the top in the last 25 years imo and im a massive hayemaker fan.
He retires with his point proved and puts his feet up a very rich man...:deal It easily puts him in the Top 5, but let's face it, it's been a very mediocre division compared to the 60's and 70's...:yep
The 1990's probably had 10 guys who would easily beat Haye **** even the so called no marks of that decade, such as that Croatian who gave Lewis a hell of a scrap, would beat Haye.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLhY96EzkxQ[/ame] This version of Bert Cooper - who would pick Haye to beat him? He went toe to toe with a prime Holyfield and knocked him down
Say its 2012 by the time he beats Vitali. 25 years takes him to 1987. At heavyweight he'd have a 41/42 year old Vitali, Wlad, Ruiz and Valuez of note. I understand he can only beat who's put in front of him, but putting him in top 5 of the last 25 years is a joke, for a start, Tyson , Lewis, Holyfield, Bowe , Vitali, Wlad are all miles ahead of him! Even IF he does beat them both! Bruno would be higher on the Heavyweight list than Haye!
90's HW's that would beat Haye.... Lewis Tyson Holyfield Bowe Golota Mercer McCall Cooper Foreman Moorer Mavrovic Briggs Bruno Douglas Tua Ibeabuchi Byrd Tucker Morrison Ruddock Mason There's a few amongst that lot that I'd give him a chance of beating, and I'd favour him over Phil Jackson, Larry Donald, Jesse Ferguson, Carl Williams, Derek Williams and guys like that..... That's some HW division though that :yep
