Lewis got knocked out by Rahman because he was out of shape and couldn't get used to the air in Africa. he dominated in the rematch when he took him seriously and KO'D him.

there is no excuse for wlad what so ever for that defeat. he was in great shape and focused for the fight. he made sure that he was always in the best shape after what happened to him in the Purity fight.

I'm going with Muhammad Ali easily. It's funny but when you put the question like this is really puts you in the proper mindset of answering the question in terms of the picking the guy with an indomitable will, spirit, and character. I was close to saying Tyson but with my life on the line I'd venture to go with someone a little more stable, and a fighter with the skills to handle almost any style.

Going with Tyson seems a like a good choice unless Ali is behind the curtain.

 

If you pick Lennox Lewis it could be a B level fighter behind the curtain and he could relax too much, get careless, and then get caught. I don't think Lewis is a good pick.

Ali, Tyson, and even Holmes are better picks in my view.

Ali ticks every box, and he could psyche just about anyone out.

 

Douglas was a C- Level fighter and he knocked Prime Tyson out.

Pre Prime Lewis and Post Chin Prime Lewis lost while ahead on the cards in fights he was utterly dominating.. Lucky punches.

Douglas battered Prime Tyson from pillar to post for round after round before showing mercy and knocking him out.


I like Tyson. I really do. I think he will brutally and savagely KO Wladimir to death, but he aint beating Lewis.



Ali was knocked out by British Knight Henry cooper and they had to use smelling salt to revive him. Look I like Ali, but they had to use smelling salt to revive PRIME Ali. Imagine if Lewis had landed a right hand.

 

i would take the holmes that beat cooney over the lewis that beat morrison.

larry holmes had a great chin and a far better jab than lewis.

maybe lewis had a better overhand right but i cant think of anything else.

Lewis vs Larry Holmes
Let's take a look real quick.
Larry Holmes arguably had the slightly better jab. He will be giving up a slight height advantage, a pretty big overall size advantage and a slight reach advantage.
Holmes was a great boxer, and loved getting into jab battles. The issue with that is Holmes will WIN the jab battle against Lewis, that's actually a bad thing. It will force LL to unleash the beast within him and that only comes out when he feels like it. When seeing that he is being out jabbed and out pointed, Lewis will take the battle inside and hit Ole Larry with a variety of upper cuts and Lennox is the greatest street fighter of all times. Larry will not be able to understand why he suddenly have a massive cut below his eye.
Lewis is a 5 dem Boxer, a jabber, puncher, mover. When the jabber start getting out jabbed(something that I honestly doubt, but let's just say he does) he will become the inside puncher aggressive super fighter that he is.
Holmes getting hit with a Lewis right hand is inevitable. Lewis is not Ernie Shavers. Holmes WILL not be getting up.
Larry struggled with Witherspoon,Williams,Norton and Cooney. All tall fighters who could jab back at him and who could attack and impose their own size.
Lewis is far superior to any one of those four chipmunks.
I honestly see a close jab battle, until Lewis start getting to Holmes on the inside and hitting him with a combination of upper cuts, ending Holmes around the 8th.




I like Holmes .. I really do. I respect him and will pick him to savagely stop Wladimir.. but he isn't beating Lewis.









I get it.. Lennox Lewis got like 3 strikes against him.
1- He's black
2-He's British
3- He's Canadian.
