Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but if they fought late 90s-early 00s when Calzaghe could actually punch then Ottke probably gets stopped.
Yeah if he was still a puncher them Calzaghe overwhelms him for an early TKO in about the fourth or fifth, maybe even a Mario Veit style blow-out if Calzaghe went for it

The Reid -fight was a disgrace but Ottke was not as bad as some jokers here are trying to make him. But no wonder as most of the posters in this thread are from the british isles...

I am just tired of these biased threads... :(

Who got robbed of the decision when fighting in Germany.

Ottke was a ****ing joke and a disgrace to the sport. So were his promoters and the vast majority of referee’s and ‘judges’ involved in his fights.

Bull****. Genuine British boxing fans are the first to rip the **** out of a boxer who attempts to fake their record. Calzaghe is highly criticised for what fight fans perceive to be a padded record (and rightly so).

It still pisses all over Ottkes dismal cheated pile of **** attempt at ‘greatness’.

the term British isles died out with the stone age, its ireland and Britain, get it?

Ottke was decent, he was never near Calzaghes class and he lost plenty, ive seen him plenty of times

Looking at what I've seen, you could make an easy argument he loss to Glen Johnson and Charles Brewer.

You can "make" something (up) out of every close fight that doesn't go into the direction you dearly wanted. That does neither make it a "robbery", nor does it make the (close) winner a "disgrace". Ottke in his prime toyed with a lot of opponents he was just technically and tactically superior to, making it unnecessary close. He also later got the habit of holding instead of using his old trademark defense to make up for his fading endurance once being on the wrong side of the 33.

Ottke would have been better off if he would have quit that **** about drawing rounds because he knew the scorecards, and just retire a year or two earlier. If he had given it all in every fight, landing the punches he could, instead of coasting, saving energy, and doing 47 feints and 2 punches a round, there would be no doubt about how good he was. He easily dominated "prime" Mitchell (who actually wasn't that good) wanting to make a final statement, even Mitchell admitted that directly after the fight. I just don't see him beating almost any version of Calzaghe without that one underestimating him and coming with no plan.

Now, kids, go ahead with da Ottka bashfest. It's raining outside.

Calzaghe would embarrass that joke of a fighter Ottke.

That being said, if fighting in Germany, Ottke steals a win from Joe.
