You must not be too bright to even try to parraled the two fights.
The Calzaghe-Jones fight was fought to its completion with Calzaghe winning a wide decision on every card.

......the judges and just about every journalist covering the Vitali-Lewis fight had Vitali ahead clearly at the time of the cuts stoppage.

.....what made this stoppage even more inconclusive and left every boxing fan who witnessed it wanting to see a rematch, was Vitali pleading to the referee to let him just go out for one more round.

The bottom line here is that every fan who witnessed this fight was looking foward to having things settled by the fighters in the ring and not the judgement of a referee over a cut.

Lewis when he wisely announced his retirement knew there was an asterick over his win over Vitali (a cut stoppage win in a fight every judge had him losing in)

......A fighter who was sure of himself would have not wanted to leave the big stage of prize fighting with that asterick on his record. (A cut stoppage in a fight he was down on the cards in.)

If my memory serves me, Vitali made Lewis commit on a rematch while they were still in the ring.........and as well all know, Lewis thought about it during the course of the weeks to follow and and wussed out!:deal:yep

Lewis won the previous 2 rds and was ****ing up the tiring Vitali's face with vicious uppercuts etc, thats what would have continued to take place

and past his best Lewis would have went on to win.

Prime Lewis beats a prime Vitali any day of the week but Lewis was very fortunate in that fight. I think Vitali would have won a rematch.

I am certain Lennox Lewis himself agrees with you.

The only thing that would have happened had the fight continued would have been Vitali losing an eye... I mean, you have to stop the fight at some point with that kind of injury, what are you a masochist?

Thats what I thought. Calazaghe got scared b/c he realized he could be knocked down by a forearm :). Gave up boxing forever. Actually I think what retired him was there were no more big named guys over the age of 40 for him to fight.

If the fight had gone on 2 more rounds, Lewis would have ended Vitali's career. That cut was horrendous. Props to Vitali for wanting to fight on though.

    Lewis would have walloped him.

Old, fat, past it Lewis TKO6 prime Vitlay.

An old, in shape, past it Lewis would have stopped prime Vitlay too.

He was simply on another level, just as he was to Frank Bruno and Andrew Golota.

Strange how we never seen those guys compared with Vitlay in prime vs prime matchups :think
