Lets settle the did tyson duck foreman debate

If you had read carefully, you would have seen that I talked about the huge numbers Tyson made during his return (25 million for his first fight for example), I wasn't saying that a Foreman fight wouldn't have been lucrative.

And yes, when it was time to sign the contract, Foreman reportedly refused several times (in 1990, 1991 and 1995) because he didn't want to sign with King.

But I guess stating facts is being a member of " team Tyson " for you.

Considering the waves of hate that Tyson received for knocking out a 38-year-old, I dread to think what would have happened if he had knocked out a 46-year-old. Big money? as Mike himself said, he would also earn a lot of money for a masturbation show at MSG, but not everyone is a prostitute at heart.
From a sporting point of view, this fight was pointless. Tyson was champion in 1986-1990 and 1996. Was Foreman even briefly the top contender during those years?
It's a good thing Mike didn't knock out George, that would have been really disgusting.

Do Tyson haters really think that Grimsley, Savarese, Shulz, Stewart, Tucker were braver, better, more ambitious than Tyson?? I often have the impression that Tyson irritates some people so much that it turns off their logical thinking.

funny, if George publicly claims that Tyson is afraid of him, doing a PR move typical of professional boxers, Tyson haters claim that Foreman is not afraid of Tyson, if Foreman admits after years that it was just a PR move - oh, he's just nice. At the same time, Earnie Shavers claimed that Foreman had been avoiding him since 1968 and that he would knock out Tyson. Virtually every famous heavyweight boxer said the same thing. It looks like Tyson was afraid of Foreman, and Foreman and Tyson were afraid of 50-year-old Shavers, who was knocked out by some complete boomer.

Foreman was the champion in 1996.

 

He was WBU and IBA champion.

 

He was the lineal champion with the best claim to be THE champion in the division at that point.

 

Maybe to guys like Bert Sugar, but Tyson was the champion to the general public.

 

Tyson's claim off of beating Bruno and Seldon was weaker than Foreman's who was the man who beat the man. Mike had a lot of hype behind him, but wasn't the real champion. During Foreman's shyte reign no one heavyweight emerged to take his spot.

 

Like I said, Bert Sugar. Ditto Briggs for the Lewis fight.

Schulz was robbed blind against Foreman. And Foreman didn't gave him a rematch.
Inversely, Tyson demolished Bruno and quickly unified against Seldon.
Tyson had a better claim to be champion than anyone in 1996.
