The fact that he's his son makes him less likely to pull him out.

Enzo and Joe have got this macho italian **** going on, they're too proud to quit, let alone in the biggest fight of his career.

I guarantee 100% he will not pull out.

Calzaghe and Wright couldn't be more different.

Kessler and Hopkins are completely different as well.

Personally I think Calzaghe will have a lot more success than Wright did and he'll be a lot quicker than Hopkins is. I don't think it'll be a bad thing if Joe becomes tactical and boxes Hopkins rather than fighting him.

Hopefully Joe will take the first few rounds and Hopkins will have to chase the fight, that's when the fun begins.

I think Hopkins will certainly be able to pull off some smart-looking counterpunches, but his age and Joe's overwhelming business will just be too much for him to beat.

So I reckon Calzaghe UD12.

Dollars to doughnuts Calzaghe gets most of the early rounds though, Hopkins is such a slow starter these days.

 

i initially went for calzaghe,thinking he'd throw too many combo's and be too busy for hopkins, who let's face it is pretty conservative in his punch output.however i've just got the feeling that hopkins has something special lined up for joe and is somehow going to out hustle him and gain a narrow but unanimous ud.

 

Now I'm convinced you must be kidding us! So far, to my knowledge, you've predicted -

Calzaghe to win by late KO
Hopkins to win by late stoppage
Calzaghes corner to throw in the towel

Certainly covering the more unlikely outcomes for this fight... whatever next. A disqualification perhaps....

 

That would actually be a no contest as long as a punch didn't cause the explosion. If it did it would be a technical draw I think. What kind of explsion are we talking about because obviously Joe may be too injured to continue. Let me know. Thanks.

 

So I can only assume that a previous exploding boxer caused the damage to Enzo thus far.

 

The more I think of this fight the more I believe Hopkins will stop Calzaghe but I realyy hope I am wrong. I think Enzo will chuck the towel in because Joe is too damm proud to do it himself.

But it was a fluke explosion, could've happened to anyone and Macca was well on the verge of not exploding up to that point, he'll be back etc...
