Gomez was able to get inside with no headmovement, no jab, and taller than Tyson, yet Slow Vitali will be able to keep Tyson at the end of his jab?

Tyson will nullify that so fast. Think about all the other fighters Tyson fought that tried that same strategy that had far more speed than Vitali but couldn't land anything effectively.

What is power if you can't land it?

On top of that Vitali doesn't have an uppercut.

But you know that Tysons HW era was as shitty if not worse than today?! ;)

    It was better.

Guys were in shape, and most guys were trying to fight like Ali or Larry Holmes during that time period. They were faster than Vitali and had trained to throw uppercuts.

Vitali would beat many of those guys, but that's because of STYLES.

Vitali is a good fighter, but a guy like Tyson has the STYLE to beat him because he can get underneath Vitali's SLOW punches and Vitali has nothing to offer Tyson on the inside except for a clinch.

A lot of those other guys were tall, but not as tall and as strong as Vitali, and weren't quite fast enough to avoid Vitali's punches although that too is debateable, but there approach would be much different to Tyson's who would be ducking and rolling trying to get inside, rather than looking to counter.

How the F does Vitali KO Tyson? I suppose if Tyson came out of retirement right now he'd get KO'd, but a Prime Tyson? Can someone explain this to me?

Tyson would get a TKO, no doubt.

How in the **** could Vitali win? we are not talking about Sam Peter here FFS, prime tyson would have jumped all over Vitali and landed bomb after bomb.

In his prime he was not a fighter who would be kept on the end of a slow, robotic jab.

    Jesus.

    Agree.

I am hesitant to pick anyone over prime Tyson, but the much smaller Holy beat him in his prime twice.

So I am picking VK to stop TYson, as well.

Tyson lost to both Evander, and Lewis. Sure he was KING in a small pond against B level fighters, but was beaten by the elite fighters of his day....

PS, Vitali IS still in his prime. Funny how a south paw, awkward oppoent can suddenly make everyone say He's losing it, after just thrashing Peter like a rented mule in his last fight. You people are so fickle. :-(

Vitali by KO. Vitali in his prime was quite a bit faster than the Vitali we saw last weekend & he has a great chin & underated defense. Tyson would have some ealry success and maybe even be the first to knock Vitali down but in the end he'd tire from reaching with his punches & be knocked out a la Buster Douglas.

Tyson would come from behind to steal a points win IMO.

Tyson never beat a great heavyweight in his prime.Larry Holmes was past it when they fought and had just come off 2 losses to Spinks.Buster beat Mike by tripling up the jab, landing uppercuts and staying outside.Prime Mike couldn't ko Bonecrusher Smith, who was smaller and slower(haha) than Vitali.Vitali has never beaten a great heavyweight either, but is rugged nonetherless.I see a close decision going either way in one of the most boring heavyweight title fights ever, not including Evander and the Giant.
