bladerunner: fair to say I've got a valid opinion & am NOT straight-up nut-hugging/guessing/arguing through 'would-have conjecture' alone. What you think?

cause it is guessing?if Barrera hadnt fought Jones would anyone pick Jones to win in a mythical matchup? the same with Marquez and Norwood.
we can only go with what happened and not with what we think would happen cause thats impossible to know.

I've been posting one day (barely a few hours-- though skimming the forums for a year almost now during my regular eastside site-visits) but I like you, already!

plus I'd just like to add that yes while Barrera & Morales are not the same fighter,, that just because I compared Morales-Barrera through Junior Jones & Pacquiao.... doesn't mean I buy the fallacy that simply because Pacquiao blew through Hatton & "DLH" (if you could even consider a man who doesn't rehydrate til after the unofficial on-the-night weigh-in as being a 'live opponent'),, he smashes Floyd Jr. aswell.

Floyd is a DEFENSIVE fighter, counter-puncher. Not an ultra-offensive boxer-puncher, whirlwind of a fighter & knockout artist with arguably p4p the hardest hit in boxing (that straight-left, ouch)..., he's still a whirlwind & hella-relentless warrior (despite Roach having him catch people coming in more now).

But that's for another topic... maybe some time next year!

what do y'all think w/ regards to JMM's 'prime' (referring to what I said earlier about defining JMM's prime). personally, where would you have it start (& end,, if you think his feet being A LITTLE SLOWER in the hella-pressure Diaz fight shows he's a fighter on the down-slide now--- I don't.. vs. Floyd will help answer this)?

Morales was the more exciting fighter to watch,Marquez the more technichaly gifted and Barrera the complete all rounder i went with Barrera because i Like how he prolonged his career by changing his style.

Erik `El terrible` Morales was the most talented & if he didnt care so much about pleasing the fans this wouldnt even be up for discussion & he would still be going strong as a LWT champion.

    IMO

Ps. glad to see Erik is leading the votes for a change :happy

Top line - Barrera has PLENTY of support on this board, a little too much in my view, he`s a tad overrated as some sort of master boxer when anyone with half a brain seen Morales box his ass silly in fight 2 & keep things even with him in the other 2 fights despite NOT completely boxing which is his strength.

Next line - you are thick as ****.

Everybody is allowed tough fights in their prime, at least Morales came thru them like the warrior he is without getting sparked like Barrera vs Jones & Pac.
Nobody ever had anything like any easy fight vs prime Morales, no-one.

As for the top line... if you give MAB that 1st fight which was extremely close to say the least then at the very least admit Morales boxed the ass off him in the 2nd fight & was CLEARLY robbed.

I'm piicking MAB now but will probably have JMM at the top once the book is closed on these 3 greats!
