Even with the ringrust, I say Vitaly brings his above 95% KOrating a little closer to the perfect score...

    Vitali.

Peter has no shot to win if the fight is settled in the ring and Vitali doesn't suffer an injury (as he did against Byrd and Lewis) during the bout.

Peter is toast, unless Vitali gets hurt in the next few days before camp is wrapped up or VK is injured in the ring. Either instance could occur, and for Peter's sake, they better occur. Or else Sam is going to get blasted on Oct 11th.

Vitaly could well overwhelm Peter early on.

more importantly - what's this about it not playing on TV?

Vitali will probably smash him up

I hate to say it again but, dependent on what vitali has got left if he is anywhere near his last fight he batters peter.

It's a big if and i wouldn't be overly surprised if peter were to blow him out, but ill stick with the big guy to pound on him until he quits.

One prediction im sure i can make is i don't see this as a 12 round fight :good

I'm actually leaning towards Vitali winning the fight. All I know is Peter better come in at his absolute best. I'm rooting for Peter though because I don't think Vitali will continue fighting much longer.

    Vitali is 35-2 (34).

The two losses were TKO's due to injuries (torn rotator cuff, badly cut eye).

In each of the losses he suffered, he was ahead on the scorecards when the fight was stopped.

Of 35 fights he's finished without being injured, 34 have ended with his opponent KO'd.

Of course, he's older now, and that is a factor. As is his previously frail body. He could get hurt this week and the fight be off. He could tear something during the fight. He could be too old now, also.

But let's assume that he'll make the fight, not get injured during it and not be too over the hill when and if he faces Peter. What does his record tell us is going to happen?

Vitali will win, and he'll win by knockout. Peter is nothing special, and he never was. He lost to Toney in their first fight. He got schooled by Wlad in their bout, even though he did drop Wlad. Vitali isn't Wlad, and he's never been seriously hurt even once during his boxing career, including against Lennox Lewis, Corrie Sanders, etc.

Peter is bringing nothing substantially more to the table than guys like Lewis, Sanders, Johnson, Hide, Williams, etc. brought. What's worse, Sam is likely to be in sh*t shape cardiovascularly, given his history. If he thought McCline lowered the boom, he hasn't seen anything yet.

Peter does have a chance to 'win' this bout. His best chance is for VK to be hurt ahead of time, or to be injured during the fight. Besides those two things, he better hope VK is just too old.

If the fight is settled between the ropes and VK has even a shred of his former self left, Peter will be mercilessly pummeled. And it shouldn't take long, either, because Peter will walk right into VK's attack. Peter is made for VK -- not too big (height/reach), not very fast, doesn't box on his toes, walks straight forward, has been shown to have a questionable chin and has horrible defense. He throws a solid shot, but so what? First of all, VK will be leaning back and avoiding some of the shots. Secondly, VK can take a good punch, something not always clear about his younger brother.

VK likes to brawl. I expect him to meet Peter head-on and do what he always does. While not a big one-punch KO artist, VK does throw heavy shots and he throws them consistently and with good accuracy. Peter may hold up for a bit (or he may not), but, eventually, I think he's going to be taking too many blows relative to the ones he's landing and will end up crumpled on the canvas or else in the ref's arms.

If Vitali is healthy and some what like the old Vitali this will be a win for Vitali. Mid to late round KO. I think Peter is durable enough to last the first 5; but we'll soon see.

Vitali is in shape, ready to go, and destroying sparring partners. Sam Peter is no better than any of his sparring partners.

    Vitali KO 3.

Vitali will win if he is fit enough and if his physical memory is good enough.

    If not, he will lose.

    I expect him to win.

If Vitali's shape is even average, I think he wins this.

I hear through the grapevine that Vitali is having a great training camp and is in great shape while Peter the Rabbit Puncher won't take his shirt off in an attempt to cover up rolls of fat. At first I thought Vitali's ring rust would be his demise in this fight but now I'll bet Vitali by 7th rnd KO and I mean flat on Peter's back bring the smelling salts KO.

Peter will win. Vitali has been out of the ring for 4 years and is now 37 years old. It wouldn't be too much of a problem if he was coming back at 30-32 years old. He'll be looking for an early knockout, no question.

That is about how I feel also. Add in the height difference and how Peter throws either clubbing or looping punches and I see Peter having problems being able to land punches.

Also keep in mind after just about all of Vitali's fights especially Johnson, Sanders, and Williams they all said the same thing in their post fight comments which was:

they could not land or be effective because Vitali was so awkward that it was hard to prepare because they could not find sparring partners to emulate his style simply having tall sparring partners is not enough.

I think Peter gets stopped in 4 or 5 rounds.
