Lets sort this out once and for all Ward only "appeared" to show interest

People are still pretending that anyone in their right mind would give in to all of Andre's demands when the opportunity cost would be giving up a Canelo fight?

C'mom man. If Alvarez and GGG were at 168, who do you really think Ward would be going after? It wouldn't be GGG. It wouldn't be Kovalev. Only a knuckle-dragging, troglodytic **** whose skull has had a couple unfortunate turns with a frying pan thinks it makes good sense to turn down a guy who more people pay to watch than watch the others for free.

Do you actually think Gennady fighting anyone at 160 or 168 not named ward would do more for his legacy than fighting and beating ward himself?

You're putting way too much of an emphasis on belts/titles. Anyone who actually follows the landscape of those divisions knows that gennady fighting ward supersedes anything he can do at 160 or 168 and that includes unifying a mediocre 160 lb division.

 

Why on earth would someone pass on a Canelo fight forever when he could simply move up later?

Move up and face Ward first and, win or lose, the Alvarez fight is off the table for good. Nobody in boxing- Ward included- is dumb enough to walk away from that cash cow if the opportunity was there.
