Lets start a Steve Bunce tribute thread

As for Bunce....when I first heard the guy I couldn't stand him...he made out Audley Harrison's victory over ****ing Herisia was awespiring and that no British Heavyweight could hope to compete with him!

Now the guy's enthusiastic...but as a boxing analyst he leaves alot to be desired.

Really like Richie Woodhall on that front right now.

I've never got past that embarrassing performance that Bunce put in for Fraudlys last fight for the Beeb. You could see his entire opinion on Auldleys carrer was clouded by the fact that the Beeb losing Harrision meant they were knocking boxing on the head and Bunce had lost a nice little earner. Bunce was trying to make it sound like the press were hounding Harrision out of the country and we'd lost out on a ATG heavyweight, it was like Ali and Vietnam revisited. Richie Woodhall was sat next to him and was so embarrassed he didn't know where to look.

The Lacy comment, I believe, reffered to the (American) press talking as though Jeff Lacy was gonna be Tyson & Jones rolled into one. At one time they were so what's the problem?

Bunce has probably forgot more about boxing than you'll ever know.

I really don't see what people's problem with the big man. He's by far my favourite pundit. The man has a passion for boxing which is unmatched on these shores. Fair enough, he makes some wild predictions and outlandish statements, but that's only because he let's his heart rule his head at times, and which of us don't when talking about something close to our hearts?

Buncey, if you're reading this, keep up the good work and forget these pissy little internet know-it-alls. As I've said before on here, there are certain people on here who, if you read their threads, never have a good word to say about anybody.

Honourable mention to Dunky, Strike, Scurla, and Jeff Thomas. Good posters who know their sh*t. Dunky's Scott Harrison bias aside of course.

Ha ha ha. Couldn't have said it better myself. I spent about 10 minutes trying to fathom what was so ridiculous about those statements and then gave up.

Now if he'd have referenced the time SB blatantly declared on the BBC "Audley Harrison will be the unified heavyweight champion of the world in 200(the year escapes me).

Well done, the standard ESB expletive filled retort. Some of you need to lighten up a bit. No-one has said they hate Bunce, most of what is said is a joke. I fully agree with what has been said about his enthusiasm but there is no need for us to eulogise him now that he's on the forum.

Who the **** knows...somtimes I think they just try to against what they see as the popular opinion...even though it seems quite split when it comes to Bunce.
