The main way new sactioning bodies and titles take hold in the boxing world is by the media talking about them. Eastside Boxing is probably the best boxing website out there, and I really wish we'd refer to Alex Povetkin as merely the number one contender. To refer to him as champion only legitimizes this bull**** about a "super" champion and a "regular" champion. I don't like being pushed around by sleazy dictators telling me who the champioon is, when I know damn well already who the champion is. I refuse to recognize any "regular" champions. There is no need for a split title now...Vlad beat Haye and is the unified champ. Let's stop talking about this alleged title fight....Chagaev vs. Povetkin was just a good match-up between two top contenders. I don't care about what some guerillas in Panama think.

At the same time it doesn't seem fair that Haye was considered the WBA champion but now Povetkin isn't. Either they are/were WBA champions or the weren't.

Regular titles & interim titles don't count!

Most orgs are crap but the WBA are heading due south with their endless list of titleholders. Junior middleweight is a prime example. There's Super champion Cotto. Regular champion Trout, and if that's not enough there's a bout in a few weeks time for an Interim belt as well. Three titlists in the same weight division in the one org. **** off.
