The ducking is obvious when an 'A-side' fighter has the power to make a warranted/demanded fight but keeps avoiding it.

So if Fury had not fought Usyk (assuming it goes ahead), that would be a duck. But so far it isn't.

Joshua avoiding Wilder multiple times now while Parker and Zhang fight him is clearly a duck to protect AJ for another belt run.

Canelo avoiding the other Mexican is at this point clearly a duck.
and so on.

It gets complicated when both sides have some negotiation power and it's hard to determine who is avoiding who more. This was the case with AJ-Wilder for a while, but the story became obvious in recent years when Wilder was calling for the fight but AJ has done his best to avoid it. Thus we know that it's highly likely AJ and team avoided this fight for years due to the risk.

 

What's there to be defensive about? Your post contradicts what you are trying to say. If BLK Prime had made a serious offer and included Showtime, we might have seen the fight. It made no sense for a small outfit like BLK Prime to request the stipulation of cutting off a much larger promotion... unless they were not interested in making the fight.

TC had already set his sights on moving up in weight and was not interested in making a high risk, low reward fight.

Crawford offered Ennis a championship fight...something Ennis been BEGGING for. Bozy and Jaron admitted they had zero contract w Showtime/PBC but refused a 1 fight contract to win the belt and notoriety they claim to want.

If a fighter and trainer are so confident in themselves why would they duck a 1 fight deal? Seems like the perfect and ideal situation actually. Yet Bozy/Jaron added a roadblock...so it wasnt really a belt or a title fight they wanted...it was just clout chasing.

Which is why Jaron is fighting yet another TBA opponent. Cause even when aligned w PBC/Showtime he aint getting Spence, Thurman, or Danny.

You are honestly whats wrong w boxing fans. When Spence accepted the Crawford fight he went against Haymon and PBC and demanded the fight - that's why it got done.

Crawford left Arum so he could sign 1 fight deals to make those fights w Thurman and Spence.

Boots wasnt contractually committed to anyone but put up his own roadblocks. It was a duck.

 

His situation isn't anything like Errol's; in actuality, it is far more similar to Crawford when he was dealing with Top Rank and renegotiated with Arum to ensure his financial stability instead of going straight to the top welters. Was he ducking Spence, Thurman, Porter, etc. by doing this? No.

You honestly have no idea how these contracts work. You don't leave your promotion, cut them out of the biggest and most lucrative fight of your career, then sign back. That's not realistic. "BLK Prime" knew this. TC knew this.

Crawford offered Jaron Ennis a 1 fight deal on BLK PRIME. Ennis had zero contractual obligations to PBC/Showtime. Ennis and team turned the fight down.
