Too many hands in the pot for there to be one world champ per division. This is a conversation that has existed for years and it gets no where. Each sanctioning body has their own by laws, rules, agenda, etc.... in order to make money and push certain fighters.

The ABC was on to something and dropped the ball about 4ish years ago with the WBA, they simply could stop sanctioning those fights in the US, Britain could stop in the UK, and that would essentially kill the organizations.

You aren't following the timeline homie. The first opportunity proposed to Boots' camp for Crawford was after the first negotiation fail of Crawford/Spence. They went to Ennis before officially offering Avanesyan the fight. After the fight, BLK was trying to continue to work with Crawford. Their attempt at getting him to sign another single fight contract was to get an opponent that would be enticing to the fans being that Spence was signed to PBC and would be much harder to get.

Crawford didn't officially decide to move up to 154 until this year. Months after he was stripped of the IBF that he actually FOUGHT for, not was awarded via email. Crawford was held by a legal contract via a rematch clause preventing him to entertain any other negotiations until his rematch vs Spence. Showtime Boxing was no more after the new year.

BLK initiate a platform to negotiate. A serious offer isn't made until an exchange occurs between both parties. People don't just text a price or invoice. That's not how it works.

In a simple life, that definitely would be the way to go. But again, it's not just the sanctioning bodies they would have to worry about. There are a lot of individuals financially invested in these bouts from the US to UK to Mexico, and beyond. Getting all of them to agree on a common goal is pretty tricky.

Reminds of when Manny got accused of DUCKING when he would always say “talk to my promoter “.

The timeline only shows that Crawford was in the possession of the WBO title at the time the fight was offered, while Spence -who was on the same promotion as Boots- had the IBF, WBC, and WBA. It never made sense for Ennis to cut PBC out for a WBO title shot when he was already position to fight the winner for the undisputed title.

BLK Prime made a desperation offer which Boots didn't bite on. He did what he was supposed to do, stayed in line for an eventual shot at the winner... and then benefitted from Crawford being stripped.

TC could get his belt back by fighting Boots, but he has no interest in 147...unless he has the opportunity to drain Spence again.

It's never as simple as it seems. Boots did the right thing and was not rewarded with the opportunity to fight for the undisputed title. Neither Crawford or Spence was fighting him at 147; they'd already frozen him out.

It's not fear. It's not ducking.

    It's just business.

Wilder is not particularly deserving of a fight with AJ though so why should AJ fight him. AJ also hasn't fought Bakole, Hunter, Kabayel, Rivas, etc, etc. Why is he obligated to fight Wilder in the first place?

That's clearly not the only thing the timeline shows. I've already pointed out what you missed. If you are continuing to push the false narrative, then you are willfully choosing to be ignorant in order to support an agenda. And you are wrong. Boots was NEVER under the same promotion as Spence. Boots was promoted by NOW Boxing Promotions. Spence was/is with Premier Boxing Champions (PBC). Boots had a television deal with Showtime, the same company that was connected to PBC. Being that NOW was not a large brand like PBC, Boots often had his fights on a PBC card so that he could get a bigger platform for his fights. Do you honestly think that if he was signed to PBC being how high profiled he is/was as a prospect/contender/now champion, his largest purse would be only $350K?

BLK didn't make an offer, so how was it desperation. They proposed an offer in attempt to re-sign Crawford to another fight deal. The money they would have given Boots would have more than doubled his largest purse. You can a REAL CHAMPION who fought for a title being stripped just weeks after gaining that title a benefit? Well, that just shows me that you are more of a Man Fan than a Boxing Fan.....

Boots didn't do the right thing. And he wasn't frozen out. He chose not to take the opportunity given to him because as you can see, he's still chasing a big fight even after becoming an email champion. Boots could have stayed put and been Crawford's opponent during late winter early spring to actually WIN a title and earn a large purse.

Boots legacy is built on claiming fighters are "avoiding" him, yet he and his never can't give you one actual name who turned down paperwork to fight him. Boots doesn't have a single opponent on his resume that will ever compete and/or win a world title at 147, yet for some reason, you and the rest of his followers feel he is the most deserving at a title shot vs an undisputed champion. Then you choose to not only ignore the fact that a big fight was propose to him TWICE and both time he turned it away without even attempting to negotiate, but you also justify it and claim he made "the right choice" and pat him on the back for how he received a championship.

If Jaron Boots Ennis didn't fight another round after today..... his biggest accomplishment would be receiving a title stripped from a man he turned down negotiations with, not even a fight,......negotiations, twice.

Crawford beats a unified champ to build a legacy, yet, Boots fans found all kinds of fault in his resume. Even Boots himself say, Crawford hasn't fought anybody.....lol. Ironic.....because, Boots only has one man in 31 fights who's ever held a world title and it was at a smaller division......Boots himself.....has beat no champion for legacy......he simply has a WiFi connection and was able to check his email.

Congrats to him.....and you diehards who support him for it......lol.

I'm done with this conversation. There isn't much more to be discussed with you regarding this as you feel he made the right choice.

    Whoa!! Too long!

Boots had obligations to PBC and BLM Prime attempted bypass those obligations by cutting Showtime out. You admit that they never made Boots a serious offer, yet contend that he would've made more than he has in any other fight. How could you possibly know this? ...How much did Avenesyan get paid?

At the time the Crawford was presented, he was just a WBO champ who happened to be in active negotiations with Spence. There was no chance of Boots bypassing Spence and damaging his working relationship with Showtime. So he waited for the dust to settle.

Spence and Crawford effectively froze him out by locking themselves into a two-sided rematch clause, which was unneccesary with an undefeated challenger waiting in the wings. If either were so keen on facing Boots for low reward, they would not have insisted on having to fight each other twice.

Boots miscalculated and believed he would get his shot. He also believed Showtime would still be around. It hasn't worked out... but why try to write a book on him so soon?

    ... "ducking"

You people get carried away with that term. Ask him now if he would like to fight Crawford for undisputed WW title and see what he says.

I keep forgetting there are a lot of public school struggling individuals who hate to read more than 2 sentences. I'll try to shorten it up with this response as much as possible......lol.

    1. Boots had ZERO obligations to PBC... Do your research. He was signed to NOW Boxing Promotions who had a small deal with Showtime. Boots only connection to PBC was the fact he fought on the same network and would try to get a fight that is placed on a PBC fight card in attempt at getting a larger revenue share.

    2. No, there wasn't an official offer...BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T NEGOTIATE. BLK reached out to express interest in making the fight and Espinoza brushed it off because their main focus was on their own fighters (specifically Errol Spence Jr.) and neither Crawford nor Boots was a PBC fighter. Crawford was a free agent. Boots had a Showtime deal.

    3. It's common sense to know that Boots would get more to fight Crawford than he's gotten fighting anyone else on his resume. BLK Prime gave Crawford $10M to fight Avanesyan. Even if they offered Crawford half of that ($5M) and did a 90/10 split with Boots getting $500K.......that's still would be his largest purse of his career. Obviously, I doubt Crawford would push for a 90/10 split given his respect for the fight game and Boots in general, but you see the point....or maybe you don't.

    4. Crawford/Spence's rematch clause had NOTHING to do with Boots. TF are you talking about. Boots is currently NOBODY in the boxing game as he's done NOTHING. Crawford & Spence were undefeated, multi-world championship fighters who were both in the top 5 p4p. Their rematch clause was for them to break the bank. Over 700 thousand PPV buys generating $60M & $20M at the gate. Why wouldn't they want to do it repeatedly. They wanted a trilogy with these 2 because they thought it was going to be a close fight. Crawford dominated to the point that no one was clamoring for another fight. Had nothing to do with freezing out Boots. Y'all starting to cry waaay too much about this grown man. Victimizing him as if he is some 12 year old boy who can't speak for himself.

    5. Boots didn't miscalculate anything. He made moves to try to get the fight he wanted. NOBODY knew that Showtime was just going to up and quit boxing. That wasn't his fault, nor any of the other fighters/promoters. Ain't no one writing a book on him. They are pointing out the facts you for some reason, you refuse to acknowledge.

    6. I don't care about anyone else. When you respond to me.....then talk to me about what I actually said. Don't refer to me as no damn "you people". And I said nothing about him "ducking"......I said he had 2 opportunities that he/his camp turned down for their own justified reasons.... Which is factual. Ducking involves someone avoiding something due to fear and/or safety. No where did I suggest that Boots showcased any fear of Crawford or is avoiding a loss or whatever.

I tried to use a few words as possible, but whatever. This is a boxing conversation. Not a Twitter or Facebook status. If it's too much to read....move on and let me converse with adults. I don't some kid crying to me about reading on a boxing forum.
